16 bit or 24 bit?

ok heres the deal. all of my studio equipment is at my friends house, n thats where we record as well. however, i do most, or all of the mixing. so i'm gonna buy the Event TR-5. well
 
sry that wasnt supposed to happen...but yea, will i be able to connect them to my standard 16bit sound card that came with my HP, like with some rca to stereo adaptors? and if not, do u think i should jus buy the audiophile sound card just to use it at home? (we have the m-audio delta 1010 at the studio.)
 
I don't understand the question... what do monitors have to do with the word-size of digital recordings?
 
but i wont be able to get the audiophile anytime soon...so how do i connect what i have now (the stock sound card) to the monitors in stereo? the monitors accept rca, 1/4 and xlr inputs...i'm thinkin an adaptor that goes from 2-rca's to a single stereo 1/8" jack?
