Great mics. I use mine all the time and have had success using them as drum OH's, and for vocals.
 
yep i ordered three as christmas presents for people. i had one of these like 5-6 years ago, but (shockingly) sold it. at the time it cost me $180 and didn't come with a shockmount.
 
well, based on what they've been doing recently, if they don't sell enough or sell out, they might just discount it more and leave it on sale. i bought an rsm-5 when they were on sdotd at $99.99, then they put them on sale for $79.99 and now $69.99 :mad: ... though they don't seem to have any in stock.
so if they don't sell out or hit some other sales target, look for these to be on sale for $29.99 pretty soon :rolleyes: :D
 
I ordered one because that's all I can afford but would have liked to try a pair. I record using a four piece Ludwig kit and plan on using it on a tom if one of my two MD421s is on the kick or I expand the drum kit. I'm also interested in trying it on vocals and acoustic guitar.
 
nice price, especial considering the retail is about double.........

but to anyone who uses or has used this mic, is it really good for vocals or just percussion???

(My mistake - I forgot that at one time CAD did claim to make its mics in the U.S. - I don't think they are now.)

shiiit. i tried to order but the dont ship to uk. theyre £140 in the uk... like $200 something

I really didn't need another LDC, but I couldn't pass it up.
 
Thanks to Thajeremy for posting this, I wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

I ordered one and then thought, what the heck, I'll need a like pair of mics anyway, so I ordered another one.

My wife might not see it like I do but I've learned that it is easier to ask for forgiveness than to beg for permission.:eek: :D
 
Thanks for the heads up. I usually have goodies sitting in my shopping cart at MF waiting for the Stupid Deal of The Day to be something I need (want!). When the SDOTD is good enough, I pull the trigger on the cart. So for me, that was today with a pair of these mics.
 
Yeah, thanks Jeremy. I couldn't sleep this morning and was checking out the board when I saw this post. I quickly yanked out the credit card and ordered one. Probably should've got two, but oh well.
 
no prob guys....I check the SDOTD every morning around 4:15 EST.....I actually ended up getting 4 of them....I had a $100 MF gift card from my B-day back in Sept. so the 4 only cost me $136....not bad...Ill probably sell off a couple but Im really interrested in trying them over a drum kit..

Same here... I guess I fought it off just long enough.

How would you guys say the m177 compares to SPB1. I have a B1 and besides the CAD having a roll off and Pad...
