Hey everyone..... I only have one room to use for my studio. it is 4.5 x 3.5 m. I am thinking of building some big nearly ceiling height gobos to put around the drum kit to have some isolation.... Any tips? thanks

What else do you have in the room besides drums? You must have a desk, computer, etc for recording? In a room that small, you need bass traps in the corners, traps/absorption on the side walls. When you say 'isolation', assume you mean isolating the sound from getting out of the room? Ain't gonna happen. I'd go a with a minimum mic set up (bass, snare, overheads) to reduce issues you are going to have with bleed.

My recording room is pretty small aswell. I have my floor completely carpeted to reduce alot of unwanted echo. I dont have any sound dampening foam anywhere. I close mic all of my drums and instead of using an X/Y configuration with the overheads i set them up the way you would for Glyn Johns. Personally i think if you have the funds, set up isolation, otherwise you can get around it
