SUGGESTION

I think it'd be a good idea for everybody who does one to post a new thread. Otherwise, I'm thinking some of these are gonna' get lost.

JORO - POST A THREAD
VOX - POST A THREAD

I recorded something yesterday morning...
All improv....
Taylor 314CE direct through the Fishman...
2 tracks...one take each...
Bounced the rhythmn to a track and panned..
minor editing in Cool Edit....
used my own verb settings on the lead...
Took about an hour...tops..

I call it Familiar...it's at Soundclick

here are the replies from the other thread....

the accomponiment tracks was improv, too? damn! very color my world-ish. Good tone for direct. How much is transducer and how much is internal mic? I might just have to upgrade to a fishman blender system now!

joro........very nice man. I like the dynamics you used even though it is an acoustic piece. I can see this is gonna be an awesome thread if the rest of the stuff comes anywhere near to this.

Wow joro,
Thats pretty damn good for just one take a piece. I usually hit quite a few clinkers during my takes. Nicely done tune.

Thanks guys....
needs work though I think...a little more leggatto (whatever that means :D)
My Taylor is a 2001...no mic in the fishman.......just had the settings right up the middle and the volume pegged....lower on the input side...

That's a pick up? I'll be damned. Pretty cool bro.

Ya that's a great sounding direct recording. I have a Fishman in my Guild...they sound great. Would like to have one in my Seagull but I don't know when I'll play live a gain, and I like mics anyway.

This is really nice...I love the leads melodies you chose. Like dtb's song, this wams me up during this huge Nor'easter we're getting here in Maine right now. Nice stuff brother!

another reason why I need a Taylor. I've been looking at those 314's. ..several times.

this is very melodic.

Did you get my reply in there? Because I didn't see...oh, there it is. Okay. All is good now. Nice tune, and seriously cool improv.

man that is seriously tasty ...

i didnt read alll of this thread are both of those guitar parts the same guitar?..
its not even really the gitar sound as much as it is the actual recording....man this is good....

sweet,
jamal

Thanks for the comments guys.

yeah Jamal...that's one guitar...two different tracks...verb on the lead...

SLuice...Seagulls have their own electronics.....they seem a bit bizarre...hard to get at to change the battery as well...nice though...I played a few and was really impressed...

Here's mine...

Looks like a functional home rec. setup man. You definitely turn out some good stuff. I have the original Audigy Platinum Ex with the break out box. My reccomendation is to keep the box away from your monitor.. it causes interference. Just a little trial and error I learned. I thought I was havin a cable issue at first.. then I moved the Box and PRESTO!.. ok enough of that. You'll like that Audigy man. I use my SPDIF output on my Roland VS-880 and pan the tracks hard left and right 2 tracks at a time to move them onto my PC for editing in SONAR. I just like to do tracking on the DAW.. I have trouble with latency on the PC since I mostly do multitrack stuff. The Audigy's input on the breakout box is very handy for stuff like that. and you keep it digital so no D/A/D changeovers. Well, I dig that guitar sound and I think that I'll be listening for more of your stuff.

P.S. do you use CEP mostly? or do you have other software that you work with?

Well I have Cubase and Cakewalk....
No Latency issues with any inclusding CEP....CEP is pretty cool...easy to use...
I wanna use MIDi soon...but I am clueless...

I just bought this thing...
It aint a Motif but it's OK for now...

well, the Audigy has some decent MIDI sounds to start with at least IMO.. but I think if you want to do nething like these guys you're gonna need some killer samples! lol They have turned out some drums that just sound so real!.. well you'll find the audigy should work fine for a MIDI interface. I use my MIDI port to A: update my Roland VS-880 Operating System. and B: to connect my MIDI controler Keyboard. It worked like a charm.. well after LEARNING MIDI.. what a hassle. but hey, if you can play keys it would be a HUGE asset to your music.

Cheers and Good Luck with that rig.. NOW MAKE SOME MUSIC!...

hehe

[EDIT] P.S. 602A eh'?... hey, no worries.. I use the 802A.. I've got no regrets at this time.. the pres are quieter than my current mics anyway... so no way can I complain!.. lol

Doubled acoustic... is there anything more satanic? lol... (jeez... must be channeling the spirit of j.b... jamal... I cast thee OUT...)

Great lead there... (heard this yesterday and di'nt comment)...

Kept imagining Mr. Hedges playing both rhythm & lead at the same time (!) and it was frightening :o

Beautiful piece of music. Haven't read all the replies... so not sure if I should ask... is this an original?

I believe it's an original...it's all improv but, sounds familiar to me...hence the name...
