I'm thinking about buying an M-audio audiophile 2496 but have a question about the RCA inputs. From what I can see, the 2496 takes RCA inputs only, no 1/4" inputs. However, the soundcard I'm thinking about buying (ART tube mp studio mic preamp) and another I've seen recommended on the bbs (M-audio DMP3) both have 1/4" outputs.

After investing a little $, I'm paranoid about making the 1/4" to RCA conversion and losing sound quality. Is this even an issue?Am I missing something here?

thanks

I have a similar setup; I have to go from 1/4" to the RCA inputs on my Delta 2496 and I made the cables that I am currently using for this. The 1/4" end was easy as could be, but the RCA connector was a bit trickier, and didn't turn out as sturdy as I would have liked. I used Mogami cable and Switchcraft connectors; both from Markertek.

gidge is right i have 4 2 running from my compressor to the audiophile and 2 running from the audiophile into my monitors music stores usually have them and if radio shack is closer they have them also

groovy

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like the conversion isn't going to be a problem in obtaining the best sound possible given me and my (soon-to-be) equipment.

Rock on!
