Hey Jamal. NO STEAK FOR ME??? DUDE!!!!!! :D Regarding the parameters, could you link me to the original post? I vaguely remember something about taking 1.5 hours to put the stuff together and the piece being 1.5 minutes long. Am I right about this? I tried to find the original post and I couldn't. So I just went for it. I have heard some great shit from the others on this board. Very cool idea, even if I fucked up big- time parameter-wise. Thanks for listening, Jamal. ~~~~Lee

Thanks for the kind words and listening, Yoki. I really suck at "real" jazz or the blues, but I got a few jazzy bones in my body. (I saved em' for this contest) :) I really am a rocker-type dude. CYAAAAAAA ~~~Lee

Mr. Diagnosis sir....that is very cool. how come I haven't played any sax for you yet? Or for that matter I have some blues I need some keys for....PM me if you're interested.

very cool piece of music her man....kinda Pink Floydish. Nice 1.5 song.

Man that's a great mix with great instrument voices...except the horn...cymbal's are outstanding!

Only thing missing is LT.'s horn.....
That would be frickin awesome! :D

Good job man,
Joe

Lt. Bob: You a cop, man? Huh? Huh?????. :D Love to put a "thing" together over the net. Never did before. Would like to hear some of your shit. Got music? ;)
P.S You related to Lt. Dan?

All these Unpolished sounds are very refreshing...I think something is lost when music tries to be Too perfect. This song reminds me of a tragic ending to any cop movie ever done.Great stuff...:)

Weird, but as your post was loading for me to view, I was thinking the the same thoughts, W.I.S.C. The melancholy nature of this "omelette". Very sad and tragic. Like 9/11 for instance. The innocent workers, firefighters, and cops and all of their families. Hundreds of thousands of relatives and friends including me directly affected by the tragedy. Such is life for many of us. :(
I think the "unplugged" nature of the music being presented here at Homerec is nothing short of sparkingly refreshing. I have heard some bad-ass talent the past few days, and I am enjoying this tremendously. Who's brainchild was this anyway? I am still trying to find the original poster's message. Thanks for the kind words, W.I.S.C. ~~~Lee

P.S. Where is Strong Island? I am from N.Y.C. originally and I never heard of this place.

Let me know and show me how, dude! I B game!

Thanks for the thumbs up, Mr. Sabbath. How are things in L.I.?? GOT SNOW??? :D :D :p

Ah...the ability to create actual beauty and emotion from nothing. That's the thing I struggle with the most...I just seem to re-hash things that have now become almost like formulas for me. I'm impressed...not just b/c it was done in 1.5 hours either.

By the way, the original thread was started by VOXVENDOR, and I'm sure it's on the 2nd page by now...I think it was called "1.5 Hour Challenge" or something like that. He has another thread started for his song, but you're looking for the first one, I think.

Mine ended up being pretty short too, but it wasn't b/c of a rule, it was b/c I screwed up and made the drums too danged fast...LOL. Man, I felt like a freakin' AUCTIONEER by the time I finished laying down that vocal track.

I'm on the 5th spin...that piano sound is really...perfect.

(work with Steve ("Lt.Bob") if he offers...the man is seriously talented and (thankfully) generous with his talent).

Thanks for this

An Auctioneer?? Shite! You are WAY too talented to be in that vocation. Chris, I sound like a broken record buttttt....thanks for the kind verbiage regarding "beauty and emotion". I am glad it "came" out of this quickie. There are so many submissions to review that I will be dedicating my Sunday to.( As many as I can get away with without my wife attacking me with her glue gun in between her breaks in her craft-room!) I am looking forward to collaborating with Steve. Don't know how to do it, but considering all I have learned from mic's to recording techniques, on this site EXCLUSIVELY, I am sure Steve will guide me into the right "space"...and thanks for the "Fuck" song....I really needed it at the time, man! Regards, ~~~~Lee

P.S. TO ALL: The NR site owner did suggest that all submissions be converted to 128 for a more seamless presentation without buffering problems.
