Hi all, I'm wanting to build a specific mic rig, but I haven't got any microphone capsules, and I don't know where to start.
I have heard that the Panasonic 55A is quite a good cardioid mic, but I would really like to hear some samples before I purchase one (they're quite expensive here in the UK).
Are there any other cardioid electrets that have a good sound? I ripped one out of a dell laptop a while back and it sounds unbelievably good (better than the Zoom H2's internal mics), but I have no idea what kind it was. It was smaller than usual though, but also a bit hissy (which is its only downside).
