What is the different between Fostex E16 and B16 ?

Another machine you should try to locate is the G16S.That replaced the E16.Be aware that there's 2 G16 models. One has dolby C NR and than there's the Dolby S model. When my E16 broke down I had a chance to get the S model locally but for the cost of the machine plus more than likely the G16 was...

What is the different between Fostex E16 and B16 ?

I used to own a B16 and it sounded ok but I kept hearing oscillation from time to time so I moved on and bought a E16. I love my E16 but keep in mind parts are outrageously expensive when it comes time to fix it.I had to replace the capstan motor and it costs me like $800.00 installed.Mind you...

AKG D112 vs Shure Beta 52

Personally, I prefer the beta 52 over the D112.IMHO the 52 gives you more to work with and just that straight up rock n roll thump. For heavy metal/hardcore than the D112 is better suited for that type of music.YMMV...P.S depending upon where you bought it if you don't like the D112 than you can...

    Starting @ Full Sail...

I'll put my 2 cents in, I work fulltime at Ford Motor Co. here in Detroit. My work was willing to pay $4800.00 a year for any classes at any school as long as the school is licensed by the State of Michigan.Considering one of my main passions happens to be recording I found a school in Eastpointe...

    Maybe you should read this

Han, believe me I'm not trying to bash your B1's or anyone else's for that matter. For the price to performance ratio there's no doubt they're a great value. To be blessed with the gear that we have know days and for all of us to be able to sit here and debate what we like and don't like about...

    Maybe you should read this

Well , I noticed from your site you have alot of nice mics to choose from and I suppose once your using mics of that caliber there might not be a major difference over several tracks but in the real world of (home recording) from my experience I've found major differences fidelity wise with...

    Maybe you should read this

Yea, but take that M149 and record 24 tracks with it than take the B1 and record 24 tracks with it.Use the same preamp for both mics while tracking and when you mix the tracks down if you can't hear a major difference between them than I suggest going to radio shack and buy a bunch of mics.Trust...

    dead tracks??

Shortest path... this has nothing to do with troubleshooting but for the cleanest and shortest path I would go mic into mic pre straight into the G16 than g16 output to your mixing board.I have a E16 and when I track with my tridents I have all my inputs and outputs hooked to patchbays and I...

    kick mic? v1.2493458486843*539

IMHO, the 421 will blow the doors off the D112 but for less money than the 421 the Beta 52 is an excellent kick drum mic.Everytime, I've used a beta 52 on a kick drum it's tight (not muddy) and pretty much get the levels right and hit record.I owned a D112 before and to me the diaghram is heavy...

akg 414. what is the diff between models?

Like I said before... get the U195 you won't regret it.If you don't like it you can always sell it to me.I'd love to have another one.I owned a 414 buls which is an extremely versatile mic but when I was strapped for cash about 6 months ago there wasn't a question in my mind which one was going...

    km184 or sm81?

I can't believe nobody has mentioned AT 4041's.I love these SDC.For the money they are a tremendous value and addition to anyones mic cabinet.I owned a pr. of mc012's and the 4041's IMHO blow them away.Of course they're quite a bit more expensive but worth every penny. If I owned a km184 I'd buy...
