make sure you have the interface and keyboard on and running before loading ableton
have you gone to preferences and changed anything?
have you downloaded ASIO?
I think learning scales are essential, to most styles.
I think that more emphasis in guitar should be put on scales than reading music.
I think you can go over board with scales, like in most heavy guitar solos, its just some dude playing scales at superspeed, I dont fiond that particularly...

How are you connecting to the PA from your amp?, is it with an XLR cable

ya the install an older version of the driver sopunds like a good Idea.
I really am not equiped to give advice on this exept that if all else fails, maybe back up everything and wipe the pc clean, then re-install everything.

Anyone use EZDrummer, I love that program, but I found that learning to play like you would a performance makes it more human, instead of inserting drum sounds.
