    Ideal Ratios For Lead Vocals

If you want soft and round vocals try Pi (thats 3,14159265...) :) Shiny vocals in the other hand can be achieved with the famous golden ratio. For a very sad or agressive song, a negative ratio might work well. And if you want to do something surrealistic you could try using imaginary ratio like...

    Killing pops while recording

Thanks for the help guys! I attached the new pop-filter and changed the mics angle and those worked very well, way better than I had expected. All the annoying sibilance and pops are gone. :) So all I need to do now is learn to sing. ;) Though I propably should sacrifice a thought for how to get...

    Killing pops while recording

Well I don't know the desibel amounts but because of my disability (and also never having learned proper singing techniques either) it really is quite weak, not too far from a whisper. Usualy the distance has been about 20cm. The humming of computer is already clearly audible there, so I'd...

    Killing pops while recording

Thanks for the replies. As I implied in my opening post I do have a cheap pop filter but that wasn't enough to do the trick, so I invested in slightly more expensive (I don't know if there will be any difference) and if it still doesn't work I'll try Richard's idea and combine them. And also I...

    Killing pops while recording

Hi =) I'm not a singer, just a songwriter / wannabe mixing engineer, but sometimes it would be helpful to record demo vocals for my songs, so I got T.Bone SC400 (I choose it quite randomly) and some cheap preamp from Behringer. However, my voice is extremely weak, so I need to use high input...

I just have to ask, was this intended or not? :D

Bass only in one ear problem...

Ozone (I'm so sorry :o) has also some multiband stereo widener/narrower.

If anyone wants to practice their mixing, here you go!

I think it's otherwise nice but the solo guitar is way way too quiet, I cant really even hear it is there! Did you just forget that track while mixing in hurry? :D And also I think there are some compression artefacts.

If anyone wants to practice their mixing, here you go!

Thanks a lot for the comments! :) But hmm.. Kind of weird cause I didnt use eq to cut any mids anywhere. When I did use eq it was mostly light low and high cut or a little band boost somewhere in mids. I tried listening it again and decided to cut some more highs in masterbus and put a slight...

To my taste the guitars lack lows or low-mids. The sound was overally quite piercing. Maybe it was too loud too? But I liked the drums though.

    Karaoke in cubase

Once again, unless we just understand you wrong, your question seems like if you were asking "how do I build a scyscraper?". You just can't expect to have a really helpful answer for that because it would take 1000 pages to answer (without going to details :p ). 1) Purchase all the instruments...

If anyone wants to practice their mixing, here you go!

Has someone been able to open it? I was now able to fully download it but when I try to extract it with winrar it says: The archieve is either in unknown format or damaged. edit: got it working!

Stoped quite soon, at least for me. I think you should split it.

How do I achieve this quality?...

Headphones are never ideal in mixing but if they are good enough (ones that are meant for studios, not just for enjoying music) they propably are still way better than awfull speakers in an awfull room.

    Cubase - Version Help

I didn't think they were worth the money and I still don't think they'd be. I don't yet have any plans of upgrading from studio to full version. 1) Variaudio would be nice (to me it would be number one thing to get the full version), but cubase studio has a pitch correction plugin which can do...
