Hey cory, I wanted to ask you something... My new MS-16 runs signal pretty well at 1khz pretty well, but when I get up 10khz and 16khz it starts doing the fluctuation thing. Do you have any ideas on this problem? Should I replace the relays in my new one too?

The Tape is great. it doesn't shed t all. I was weary at first, but they are wonderful. I read a sticky shed list a while back and I didn't see 250 on there. I did see 226 though. Does anyone know the difference between 250 and 226?

The 4 Aux Sends on my M-520 are super noisy, especially Aux 3/4. I mean REALLY noisy, I don't think it is normal noisiness. It has a ton of hiss. No popping or crackles. I have cleaned the Faders before with Deoxit G5. Could the problem be from bad Capacitors?

Do you know of the reason to store the vertically? Would it actually cause damage to store them horizontally? Yeah, I've been storing them Tails out for a while now. It really eliminates the print-through pre-echo modulation effects.

I'd say a Tascam 8-Track Recorder with a Tascam 12 Channel Mixer would be a great start. I've always been impressed with the reliability and sound quality of Tascams. If you are dumping into Pro-Tools or something, you don't need to worry too much about Track count. I'd say for a Tape Machine...

Have you tried patching your Recorder's Outputs into 4 Line Inputs on the Model 2? The Model 2 doesn't have Tape Returns right? I think you need the MB-20 for that. Maybe look into the MB-20. They pop up on Ebay quite a bit. The MB-20 has Tape Returns and has a Stereo Monitor Output. Anyways...
