    How Do I Record

Gotta agree with these guys that are posting useful advice. Think of recording this way. It's like a sport. You can't just suit up and go play football or basketball. First you need to learn the fundamentals. I don't mean to get off topic here, but I wanted to be the Heavy Metal star 20...

    I've hit a brick wall...

How true this is! I'm still trying to figure out how to operate the keyboard I got my wife for Xmas. It can apparently record up to like 4 layers of tunes. Once I can get the thing to record a drum beat, I can sort of play along to that and I think it'll definitely help something come...

Ah, ok. I got it now. Thanks!

    I've hit a brick wall...

I have a book that covers the scales and modes (I don't even know what a mode is... :o), so I'm working with that book right now. As for the scales, I'm sure I'll learn them in due time with a little bit of time put in. I'm also just going to sit down and "explore" the neck and see where it...

    Another BC Rich Warlock question...

Haha! There are lots of things that will put someone's eye out! Just ask a Vegas hooker! The guy at the shop said I could put in a set of EMGs for about $200 and Schaler hardware for about $70. That didn't seem unreasonable. I think I could probably get a better deal on an NT than $599.

    I've hit a brick wall...

I never thought I'd be taking advice from a 13 year old at the age of 34 (No offense!), but this is a great idea! I think I'm gonna try to find my old lesson books and modify "Mary Had a Little Lamb" into "Mary Sacrificed a Little Lamb." :D As for getting discouraged, I think I passed...

    Another BC Rich Warlock question...

Well this certainly turns me off from wanting to order a custom! Aside from that, I'm really not that great that I need a $3000+ guitar. One thing about my Mockingbird is that it's "top heavy." I feel like I have to hold the neck up while playing it. It's a little bit irritating but I still...

    Another BC Rich Warlock question...

Good point. The reason I'm asking is because I'm really not familiar with the differences in sound determining on the types of wood used, or anything else like that. I want something that's going to sound "rich," and have some meat behind it. I guess like something between the sound of a...

    How Do I Record

Whoa, let's give the guy a break, eh? I know exactly where the guy is coming from, because I'm just as clueless as he is. I've never seen one of these recording programs, never hooked a keyboard up to my computer, and I surely don't know what most of these terms mean. In fact, this guy...

    Another BC Rich Warlock question...

Ok, since I'm not familiar on how to "expand" this question on to my other "BC Rich" thread, I'll just start a new one because it will probably be easier. Tax-filing time is upon us, and I'm dying to get a Warlock. I've always wanted a "Made In the USA" model, but unfortunately the only ones...

    I've hit a brick wall...

Thanks for the tip, bro. I've been trying to put in a lot of time...well, as much time as time will allow. :)

    How to make techno beats?

I would also be interested in learning how to make techno-beats. Some of my favorite bands/side projects use them. I like Peter Tatgren's (Hypocrisy) side-project, "Pain," and really like some of Devin Townsend's (Strapping Young Lad) solo stuff. Some of that "Techno-Metal" is pretty awesome.

    Casio WP (or WK) 3800

Got my wife this keyboard for Xmas and haven't really had the time to mess with it much. I think it's a pretty decent piece, and despite reading the instructions, I just can't seem to figure out how to record or layer the music on it. I'd like to use all of the effects (drums, synth features...

    I've hit a brick wall...

And this sounds like exactly what my catch is; the understanding of how the chords, scales, etc. fit together.

BC Rich Warlock "Caliber" and "NJ" Series

I'm definitely picky. What do I need to look for when you say, "be cautious?"

BC Rich Warlock "Caliber" and "NJ" Series

I've always wanted a Warlock. I love'em. They look awesome, and I think they play awesome. There arguably isn't any guitar out there that's more "Metal" than the Warlock. I'm not a good guitar player, and Hell if I can afford one of BC Rich's guitars from their Custom Shop. I want to get a...

    Why have multiple guitars?

It depends on the mood I'm in. If I feel relaxed, I love to sit down with my acoustic. If I'm in a "Thrash mood," I'll break out the Mockingbird. If I'm feeling "artistic," out comes the Telecaster.

    I've hit a brick wall...

Wow, those are some really good suggestions! I especially like the one about trying to play to the jingles of a tv commercial. That's a great idea! Unfortunately, I don't really have anyone to jam with. I'm in a new area and the only people I really associate with are over an hour away...

    Why have multiple guitars?

I guess I just sort of "collected" all of them. I started out with this crap guitar as a beginner called a "Gremlin." It didn't last long after I discovered that string action on a better guitar was below 1/2 inch off of the frets, and that's no lie. This thing sucked. I saw an article in...

Interesting argument for the difference between cheap & non-cheap guitars...

That's totally cool! You posted to one of my posts in another thread, and I mentioned I just got back into playing. I've been having some "maintenance" on my guitars done. Epiphone Shadow Six Acoustic- Strings replaced (Call me "stupid," but I was clueless as to how to change the strings on...
