    Worn out - rockish tune

I've done a couple of things and I think it helped. I gave the drums a tad of reverb. I adjusted the levels of the vocals and gave them some presence with just a tad of delay. I also did some adjustments to the bass.

who says you need "real" instruments :)

I've used ez drummer a couple of times, sounds good. I then tried Superior Drummer 2.0 and must say it sounds extremely good. I've never had any comments on the drums from non-engineering people. They mostly listen to the melody anyways..Great deal if you don't have drums or are a lousy drummer...

    Guilty - Alt. rock song

Thank you for the detailed replies! I will try playing around with the vocals on the chorus, the verse I am quite happy with. It just sounds a bit weird when I remove the megaphone effect vocals from the chorus, sounds empty.. bozmillar : you said: "I think the bass could come a quite a bit"...

Tear this song apart for me please

Made me move my head in a bang-like fashion :) I'm listening through nasty earplugs, the sound is a bit sharp to my ears, but that might be the earplugs. I do like the way the voice fits in the mix, makes me think of faith no more and guns and roses :) Good work!

    Guilty - Alt. rock song

Thanks! I sang it twice, once with no effects and once with a Megaphone effect..It's to hide my true voice :p I'll try using less. I'll check those monitors out!

    Guilty - Alt. rock song

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=908818 Hi, I just finished recording a little tune. I'm sure the mix is nasty since I don't have decent monitors yet. (saving up). I would like to hear your thoughts on both the song, and mix or lack thereof. I played the guitar, bass and...

Please let me know if you need any more info. Thank you for your time!

Balanced 1/4'' input, 48V phantom power.

I am assuming it is correctly wired since I can hear myself in the monitors... Is this a valid assumption? Thanks

Balanced 1/4'' input, 48V phantom power.

Hehe, did not know that. I'm looking at the Line 6 toneport UX1 or UX2.. I see that they have XLR plugs for mics, and from your post I guess this is better design? Weird that pro card manufacturers would make such a mistake... Thank you

Balanced 1/4'' input, 48V phantom power.

I just want to make sure that it's the card that is the problem and not something else. Would suck if I went out to buy another card and I got the same problem..

Balanced 1/4'' input, 48V phantom power.

I think I have tried all settings in Sonar known to man! I even tried using different software..I have tried using MME and WDM drivers...I wish there was a way of knowing if the soundcard is sending a signal through the USB cable.. Can it be some USB IRQ sharing problem? I doubt it since I can...

Balanced 1/4'' input, 48V phantom power.

If this was the case, would I then be able to hear what I am saying into the mic through my monitors? Thank you.

    Cannot record via mic input.

A little update: Since it is Christmas I have not talked to ESI support, but I got the chance to try the card on some more computers. I tried on a desktop and a laptop. The result was the same; Not able to record using the microphone input. I'm still using a SM57 with a XLR to TRS cable. I can...

Balanced 1/4'' input, 48V phantom power.

Sorry about that, the sound card is a ESI U46DJ. The datasheet says that the mic input is 1/4'' balanced with 48V phantom power...Any ideas? Thank you!
