can i only import certin things into ntrack cause i am having a hard time using it

are there only certin things that i can import into n track because i am having a really hard time with it

someone had metioned that they thought i should get guitar rig 3 to help start my in home studio... i read some on it.. i know that it has all the diff modles and stuff on it, but is guitar rig used as a tool with recording software like cakewalk or is guitar rig recoding software in itself...

im wanting to start a studio in my home cause i have a spare bedroom, but i have never recorded anything before...all i have is a laptop and i really dont know what else to get...can someone please help
