I think there's a kitsch element. I hope it doesn't mean that cassettes will go out of fashion later on. It would be nice if cassettes stick around... it's fun to have variety, IMO.

OK, so y'all might think I'm an idiot, but it finally occurred to me last night to try my spare DBX unit. And when I did, channel four worked PERFECTLY. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and I'm hoping that a faulty NR unit is the culprit. Because I can at least continue using the spare unit...

It's pretty unusual. In my experience, the insert points on most mixers are post-gain, pre-EQ. I wonder what the motivation was behind this choice.
