    graffiti

Hey guys, thanks for the comments. :) Sorry for the bump, but I have been busy moving to atlanta these last few days, so i haven't had a chance to reply. Yeah, there are some subtle (serious :p) tuning issues here. It is mostly the open tuning i chose. The strings are hard to keep a good...

    Hide the Bones mix

I would work on the drums some, but this is definitely a cool song. Cool breakdowns. cool groove. nice tones and vox. If the drums are one track, there are some things you can do to alter the sound. eyema made some good points.

    My newest! Check it out

This song rocks! good stuff! great mix! My only nit is the hh or ride kind of sticks out every once in while. Other than that, I love the pop on the snare, awesome rocking guitar solo! Thumbs up!

    help me!

I have a heard time combining music and lyrics as well. But like the excellent mentions above, my lyrics usually change to match the tune. The voice is just an instrument, and it needs to compliment the heartbeat of the tune. For me, I am always changing lyrics to songs in order to match the...

    What strings do you use?

I am very random with strings. Most of the time I use very thin electric strings on the hohner with a thicker bottom E. It seems to retain some tension when I keep it tuned down to Bs and As. I'm not to selective when it comes to the brand. But I usually use Ernie Ball or d' addario. :)

Bennie And The Jets A Elton John Cover(sorta)

This is what elton john would have written if he wasn't a pussy. :D I still dig this song. The melody might not follow the original 100%, but I would have still known what it was without knowing the name. and when the "Bennie and the jets" vox come in, it tickles the memory... any time i ever...

Tear this up, new song by my band-- critique!

cool mix of grooves!:) I like hearing female vocals. some parts the vox are really great. the harmonies are cool. but they do make it somewhat hard to understand the words every once in a while. Just my simple take, but the guitar, even the piano in parts.. It might not be a piano, but i...

    All Alone

hey! if your song was six minutes, it would still kick ass. :D Time is only relative to what it is filled with. Courting a lady for a year can feel like a minute... sitting on a hot iron for a second can feel like a year! :) Dig the tunes on yourspace. cool stuff! keep it up!!! :):)

    Rip this song APART!!!

I don't know much about mixing or equipment, but mixed right, and i think this could be a pretty cool song! drums do need some tweaking, though. cool chord progs. but Iwould change that chord in the beginning to follow the progression a bit better. just a personal preference on my part. it...

How to change the tone of my acoustic guitar

You could try to dampen the sound with something. could even try a different guage of string. Even throwing something over a part of the sound hole might restrict some accoustics or harmonics. If you like the guitar a lot, try tuning it to different keys. Open E or A. Try lowering the top...

    Way It Goes home recording

real cool vibe throughout the song. True on the lead guitar bit. I can hear some good licks in there, but they do tend to get lost here and there. Otherwise, great mix. Also, neat drum intro. Reminds me of some when the levy breaks. i can hear some floyd and zep influences! I like it. :) :)

    graffiti

audible graffiti? Some good times, some sad times, and a guitar. mostly just a guitar. :) Working with some alternate tunings, and this is what I came up with. I've got some volume issues here and there with the panning, but I think this is a pretty neat little ditty...

Do You Like (Or Hate) Your Voice?

I hate my voice. But some people say it is great. Even thuogh i hate it, i still use it for their sake... :D

    an update of a song

I like it! love the strings. cool arrangement. as far as the recording gear... I know nothing of what it pertains, but if it is not that good, you prove that great music can be made with little.:)

Canta Minha Alma - Funk Groove Jazz fusion Track

I like this tune a lot, but I can see the midi reference. i think the tones and sounds are good, but at times it can be a bit "perfect" in the tone and timing department. a bit mechanical. I agree with previous post. get sloppy in parts! great key chops. tight bass, i could use more in...

    Remix of an old song

it is probably just the speakers on my laptop (no headphones right now.), but my only critique could be the bass. i can't make it out in some parts. it is one of the driving forces in the tune, and i could use a bit more. beyond that, cool song! Great voice, cool guitar tones, tight drum...

    Love Is Risky recording.

it does compliment the melody quite nice, though. making some pretty tasty harmonys.

a late night attempt for the third time.

I'm not really that accurate. ;) some of it is cut and paste. :D I've been practicing tapping a lot, but my timing does get off occasionally and it is a nuisance to me. :( Thanks dogman and xlr! :)
