    Pre-roll issue

I was going to say, that you should probably remove that "start count-in at start of measure" and make sure you're placing your play cursor right at the beginning of where you're trying to record.

Have you ever recorded a song on your cellphone?

Yeah, the couple of times I can recall actually using recordings in a finished track were probably a strummed (electric) guitar part (it just had a certain sound to it that couldn't be re-created later) and a couple of vocal parts. Usually, it's just a scratch idea recorder... but if the part...

Have you ever recorded a song on your cellphone?

I use my phone to record ideas, some of which I've actually ended up editing/using in finished tracks, but I've never recorded a "song" using my cellphone. I've also used my cellphone as a "monitor" to play an instrumental of my track for recording vocals (using a separate microphone/recorder).

Adding USB hub to new PC

Windows I assume? Check Windows Update for any Driver Updates. I had a USB Drive issue that was solved recently with a Windows Update Driver search.

Adding USB hub to new PC

I personally would be plugging my Mouse/Keyboard directly into the USB ports that you have your Printer/Interface in, then put those items in the USB Hub. You probably don't need a powered Hub if the things you're plugging in have their own Power (Printer/Interface), but if you ever use External...

Luthiers and guitar fixers. What’s on your bench?

Nice work! I'm not a luthier or a guitar fixer... but I have found myself with a few "parts" that I hope to one day fix up and put together for my own "signature" guitar. ;) I'd found an unfinished neck for like $20-30 that I had planned on testing out my own "custom inlay" on... and a year or...

    Desktop vs Rack Gear

I think you're worrying about something that isn't really an issue (aliasing). Though I do personally use 48khz/24bit for my recordings (in case of Video). Rack gear shouldn't have any effect whatsoever on "aliasing" which would only be some poor Analog/Digital converters or something which...

So, you can switch from one Preset to the Next on the fly and you don't have to "wait" for the sound to come back? There isn't a "delay" in the loading of the Next Preset?

    Desktop vs Rack Gear

The only "real" difference between Standalone Rack / 500 Series is that the 500 Series doesn't need their own Power/Audio I/O as the 500 Series Rack provides it. Sure, some components might not "fit" in a 500 Series version, but for the most part that is the main difference. No need to have a...

Yeah, I don't think I'd need this if it's $100 more, unless I needed it to work "everywhere". Pretty sure my Camden Pre-Amp would work fine with it. That being said... I think I'm good with the Mics that I already own, though if I were to ever buy another Mic, the SM7b is still probably the one...

    UA Lion anyone?

Cool. My experience with the ToneX is that if you LOVE that UA Lion sound, and Capture it with ToneX. It sounds exactly the same, which is why I'd just Capture the UA Lion and use a ToneX since it can do that exact sound as well as any other Amp sound you'd want. ;)

    Desktop vs Rack Gear

The difference between the two 500 racks in this thread are that the Camden Audio is actually an Audio Interface w/ 500 slots, and the Neve is just a 500 rack and requires it's own Audio Interface separately.

    UA Lion anyone?

I'd just get a ToneX and then download all of the UA Amps I'd want. ;)

    Desktop vs Rack Gear

19" is the standard Rack Width. It's Ear to Ear of the Device. I've not found any gear that requires more than 12" Deep on any of my racks. I love racks. ;)

How is the "loading" time on Presets? I heard it was not really usable in a live situation due to not being able to switch sounds on the fly as it were...
