Hi
Recently got the DR-60D to replace a "blown up" Fostex. Sad that Tascam advertise this unit as a recorder for a DSLR as I am finding it more useful as a stand alone for recording keyboard, TV, voiceovers and ambient.
My interests are mainly video, documentary style and for the Grandkids. I...
My current kit is the DR-60D Mk2. I run it with two Behringer C-2 condenser mics.
Can anyone help. A recent recording of a program off the radio (recorded as an line signal through inputs 3/4) recorded the music at a decent level but the commentary could hardly be heard. Any ideas?
Go to Fostex International : Recording Equipment, Hi-Fi Equipment, Speaker Components > Support > Multitracker Software and the software 1.21 download is there. Follow the instructions in the .pfd file.
I am running WavManager on Windows 7 64 bit - no problems yet. As the PC can look at the MR8 as an external drive, you should be able to download Wav files OK.
The tons of space? Were they created by "deleting" previous songs?
Have you re-formatted the disk and started from a genuinely empty disk?
I ask this because "deleting" a song does not remove the song from the disk, it only puts a delete flag on the file. The only way to free up disk space is...
The previous four posts refer to this same question. The VF-160 has the same output as the VF-16.
You have a choice:
1) Analogue out and into your PC soundcard.
2)Use the optical output and connect through an optical to USB converter
3)Find a SCSI disk burner to create CDs.
This recorder was...
If you had a MR16 it would have been a doddle! MR16 has a USB output.
You do have an Optical Digital Out so if you can find a Adat to USB converter, you can download your song files. The other alternative is to use the Line In on your Sound Card and transfer from the Monitor Out.
The vf-160...
I have a very shortened version of the 820 manual showing only the circuit diagram but I do have the full manual for the 812. If this is of any use please PM me with your e-mail address and I will send you a copy.
Is there a particular or special type of Y cable I need? Mine is a female 1/4 end split into two male 1/4s
Should it not be a male stereo split into two male mono?
In my suggestion you record the "raw" signal on to two tracks. Play back those tracks via the Monitor Output to your compressor...
I have an MR16 which has AUX OUT sockets specifically for this purpose. I allocate a recorded track to Aux 1 or Aux2 and, using mono patch leads, feed the signal into Input A and Input B via the piece of kit to modify the signal (e.g. a compressor)
Can you play back recorded tracks while...
You can try to move the tracks to a PC. using WavManager.
The point that has been made often is that Delete does not remove the track, it just makes it disappear. The only clean way is to re-format the disk.
Those who know the MR16, know to download a recording session to the computer as soon...
You don't say what type of mic or what problem you are having with recording from that mic. If the mic is dynamic just plug in, set your trim control to "Mic" and record. See p31 in Manual.
If the mic is condenser/electret then you need Phantom Power switched on. See p147 in Manual. Note the...
I know nothing about the D824/1624 but I do have the User Manual. If you PM me with your e-mail address, I will send you all the files I have on this machine.
Re an SSD, it would need to look exactly like the approved IDE for it to work. I know Fostex machines are very temperamental with non...
