re effect automation Thanks very much for your help.:)

In cubase it is easy to automate effects(wet,dry levels) on single tracks, cant seem to be able to do it successfully with sonar. If the only way is to use Aux,s what is the best way eg, input levels and output levels, I have experimented but cant get the control I had with cubase.

What would be a good comp/lim to use with Sonar, dissapointed it didnt come with one. and is it a good idea to compress separate files or the finished product?

automation Ok thanks for that, Ill try the volume envelopes, does this mean that Sonar has a bug with automation? Cubase automation allows automation with effects as well, I went to soanr because of synch probs with VST, but would dearly like to have more auto on mixdown with sonar.

I am having a lot of probs getting to operate the automation options on mixdown,( fade controls etc) I arm the fader , press record auto ,,nothing happens. am I the only one? Read the docs, just cant seem to get it to work, doing something wrong ,, Any Ideas? Ray

out of mem Had the same prob. It was because I moved the plugs, it couldnt find them so it gave me an out of mem. Check if your plugs are in the right folder cheers Ray

Hi, When im recording audio,say a lead guitar piece which I may punch in and out occasionly, how do I join these pieces together? so as to move or to try and eliminate the pops I get at the punch in points. Some of these pops can be very bad, any ideas? Thanks Ray

hhmm, I have tried to nut this out before, and am still confused, I download SF,s and load them in my SBlive HQ and can play these sounds on the keyboard but cannot find them through Cake, to use diff drums etc. can anyone help? thanks Ray

sonar yep sonar looks good What does DXi mean exactly and how will that help with using cubase effects?

Dont know about you guys but I believe cubase effects are far superior to Cakewalks, but cake is much easier to use and doesnt seem to give me the same probs that cubase does , such out of synch ,etc. Do you think this is fair comment? is it possible to use vst effects while inside Cake?Maybe...
