Got you, thanks. All this has convinced me that next time i do this i need another interface with more inputs, and i guess different software because i don't think Audacity can handle multiple signals at once, can it? Cheers.
Hey, thanks for the reply. Interface only has one input. Yeah I didn't think about the timing issue. Dang.
The reason I want to do this is that I've mixed it once, but upon listening to some of the songs a month later realize it needs to be done again. And so I have to mix it on the tape deck...
I.e. vs. mixing it on the tape deck, and then just mixing it down into one stereo or mono track. I'd like to be able to mix the song on audacity, adjust levels etc., but not if it's too noisy. Frustrating to keep having to re-mix it on the cassette deck and then mix it down each time I need to...
Thanks man. Yeah there was roughness, and feedback appreciated. I'm not a finger picker so that was a struggle. I'm still happy with it overall though, has a charm to it I think. Good point on the vocals, need to work on mic technique.
Thanks for listenin
Hey Stryder, we tried what you suggested and it worked perfectly! Thanks a lot. only did it for one song on my album, but here are the results:

Hi, just wondering if anyone knows how to mix down each track separately to the computer from the 414 mk II cassette four track? I've thought about it and all I can think of is muting all the other tracks while I do one at a time, but it would probably be impossible to keep them in sync then...
Hi A Reel Person, would you mind giding me through setting the line in to 16 bit, stereo, 44.1khz. I've gone to control panel but can't for the life of me figure it out. Thanks a lot,
Adrian
I'm looking at this but it doesn't look like it has RCA inputs...would I need those or can I get away with using a converter of some kind, do you think:
Tascam US144 MKII USB 2.0 Audio Interface - St. John's Musical Instruments For Sale - Kijiji St. John's Canada.
Hi, I've figured out how to get my 414mkII recordings onto my desktop using the line-in input and Audacity, but it doesn't seem to be in stereo. I spoke to a friend and he said that the line-in is crap and negatively affects the sound, and I should get some kind of usb interface instead...
I did end up finding the line-in on my desktop though, and mixed it down to Audacity on that. Didn't end up in stereo though, i don't think, and I think I had the settings right. Anyhow, it's a start!
