    Subharmonic Sythesis

That feature seems exclusive to that model and maybe isn't present in your average everyday unit (if there is such a thing). When you say "enhance", do you know more specifics? A particular freq boost maybe or dynamic compression related to specific EQ areas? I suppose for the brain cells I'm...

    Subharmonic Sythesis

This is from the dbx website about the 120A: "unique because the dbx process actually produces a new, Waveform Modeled™ bass note, exactly an octave below the bass in the original audio." Is this different than pitch shifting?

    Subharmonic Sythesis

I'm looking to add a little rumble to my mix and I was wondering what a subharmonic sythesizer would do for me. Even more, is there a way that I can rig up a poor-mans sub-h synth with a decent pitch shifter. My impression is that a Sub Synth like the dbx 120 is not much more than a pitch...

    Kick Trigger/extract timing

I actually had the ability to send some hours at home yesterday since my plane was delayed to tonight. To answer your question. I do not have a single stereo track for all drums. My audio tracks consist of Kick, Snare Top, Snare Bottom, Tom1, Tom 2, H Hat, Ride, Left OH and Right OH. I will...

    Kick Trigger/extract timing

I have an Kick drum on some recent tracking that I'm not exactly happy with 'soundwise'. I am really happy with the performance though and I'm considering adding a little sample kick. I haven't (fortunately) run into this situation before where I couldn't just rerecord the whole...

I need help on miking my Marshall Amp

If none of the above methods work, try the Homer Simpson method. First, Kick the amp hard. If this doesn't work try banging on the console (you may want to include screaming "stupid console!"). If neither one of these work, your options are getting thin. the last ditch effort takes a very...

Recording an amp far away from console.

Yeah....what he said! Stay away from the wireless. The compression that results can't be fixed if its not to your liking. I've always had the amp in the control room with the speaker cable run out to the cabinet room. If a cable has to be used to cover that distance, your be best off using a...

This might help you get where you want .......a friend showed me this trick to delay the kick into the overheads...... "The Drum Track Trick #1 STAGE 1 Lately I have exploring a new concept regarding drum tracking. Microphone placement has been an area of recording that seems to be...

    Whos effects are best

ebay A used TSR24s from Digitech would probably give you enough bang for the buck. The don't make em anymore but you could get one on ebay for $100-$150. It can do several configs from mono-mono to 2 separate ins to 2 separate stereo (4) outs. Just my opinion.

    dbx 566 Tube Compressor

Anyone have opinions/recommendations regarding this unit? (I tried to asearch on it but dbx and 566 are too small to search on) >:i thanks in advance

    Warming up the tubes

I have noticed something similar with my Boogie Mark IV. I'll be playing a gig and 2 hours into it the amp is just "on". It is a subtlety that probably only I notice but it is "good". Now at gigs I set my amp up first and get it on standby while I take care of everything else so that "on"...

    MIA/Soundblaster issues when recording

My system is only different in that I have a Layla instead of a Mia (software architecture is identical) and I have a Turtle beach Montego Bay cheapie card. I believe we got Slappy's working when it was originally set-up. We could split the signal of the Mia outs and send it to a diff...

    MIA/Soundblaster issues when recording

Hi, I actually went to Slappy's place to check this out. He has the outs on the Mia card going to his nearfield monitors, and has headphones connected to his Soundblaster card. When the kiddies are snoozing he would like to record only using the phones so he doesn't want the nearfields...

    MIA/Soundblaster issues when recording

Did you move any of the cards from their original PCI slots? You should have invited an all-star friend of yours to come over a 9:30 to fix it. Did you try that? hehe It "should" work. I am perplexed.......
