eh whatever to each his own. however if you do some research you will find that some professionals do use headphones for mixing. Alright Im out its friday night
I've never heard of a studio mastering or otherwise that didn't use more than one pair of monitors. And no I'm not saying they are better I'm saying that they are usable in my specific situation. I was under the impression he wanted to know of some headphones he could invest in for mixing. I...
all of these guys are without a doubt more experienced than I am. But I have to say I had the hardest time mixing on my cheap mackie monitors and one day running it out to the car and back only to find that no matter what I did it just wasn't coming out right. So I popped on my cheap 30 dollar...
word. I like loud metal and I think from around 1999-2001 albums were loud but to me sounded good. (i guess this is my generation) Now it seems its gone too far. Is it just me or does just about every new metal album that comes out sound like the mastering engineer just ruined everything...
You would be surprised how many people can't understand why their 200 dollar setup doesn't sound like a 20,000 dollar setup. Running two USB interfaces at once generally doesn't work out too well but is possible with aggregated devices on a mac and asio4all on windows. If I were you I'd go out...
Hey I don't know what kind of mixer u have exactly but more than likely it will only send you 2 channels to the computer. Also I wouldn't go with miking the cymbals you would probably get better results with 2 over hea mics preferably condensers as opposed to dynamic mics. Actually the kick is...
Like the guitars but they are a little bit thin but thats more of a personal preference. The drums sound extremely fake the bass drum isn't really there and the toms kind of jump out at you in a bad way. i would play with the velocity a bit especially with the snare drum. Alot of fills going...
I'm currently using the duet and while it is great especially for what i paid (less than $300 usd used) the limitations are really starting to bother me more now than before.
First and foremost its strictly MAC now and unlike the apogee one I also own there is no way around it. (linux)
The...
I concur with this part about the 57 on the kick. I'd go sm57 on the kick and snare and then throw the other two on the toms. I personally only like the 57 on smaller toms like an 8" I'd try this method first but by no means avoid experimenting others. I personally would like a similar...
Awesome Awesome Awesome! You're living my dream. Want to adopt a 23 year old god son to help you run that thing :D? Its a shame you couldn't get those 12ft high ceilings though man they sure do make drums sound huge. Awesome video though I hope to see it completed.
I don't understand the concept of this chart if you can't open up a 10 band eq, move a fader up and tell what kind of sound is coming out of the speakers you might as well find a new hobby. That is unless there are some oddly specific trade secret frequencies I don't know about.
its stuff like...
I don't use pro tools and I'm on a laptop so I can't hear well or offer much help but from what i can tell it seems like the master bus/channel on the software is turned to low or maybe just the track volume itself I don't hear any overwhelming noise so thats kinda my guess on the take.
