New Tune "Wasted Years" Check it Out

Just a couple comments. As someone said before...less reverb on the lead guitar that enters around 1:30 or so, and more on the vocals throughout. Also, I personally think that the guitars tracks for the first 1:30 or so are panned to far left and right. I would bring them closer to center a bit.

    My first effort

Drums. In your first tune, your intro consists of synth drums or something. The beat is ok, but it just sounds cheesy. I don't have a kit either, but I do have the best loops in the business. Check this out...very reasonably priced:Drums On Demand

    New tune for Review....

Overall, this is very good. The intro guitar is panned a little too far left. The vocalist is a little too nasaly, and not ballsy enough for the tune. There are a few out of tune spots, and I really think he should bring the vibrato down a notch. Overall though, he was pretty good. Good...

    Inside Your Head

Douhgy, First of all, I think that this was very well done. Very tight...well, as tight as necessary for the style. The guitars were very good, as were the vocals and drums. The only thing that really stood out to me has already been mentioned. The guitars are panned a little too much...

    A Bluegrass Song- Kentucky Flower

Vocal harmonies...that's what this really needs. Other than that, great performance.

    A New Acoustic Song

    1) The acoustic guitars are outstanding. 2) I'm torn on the vocals. I think what's bugging me is the rhythm of the vocals combined with the rhythm of the guitars. Something just doesn't seem right. The vocal sound is good, and the lyrics are very good. Something just isn't right though. 3)...

    Aardvark 24/96 and Win 2000

Don't EVER buy an Aardvark! I tried the Beta 1 and 2 drivers. Neither would install correctly, and my DirectPro has been non-functional since June. I guess I should have waited to upgrade, but I write software for a living, and I needed Win2K for testing. I made the mistake of doing it on...

    10 hours of studio time...

Sonusman is spot on! I haven't been in a studio for 7 years, but the last time I was, it was ugly. We were trying to do a better demo than we could on our 8-track. We thought we were missing just a few little things. Man, we were all f*%&ed up! Sonusman is so right about the drums. We spent...

    Warming up the tubes

I wish I could help you out with the noise issue, but I don't know the answer. I'd recommend taking it in to someone you can trust. As a side note, you don't really need to warm up for as long as you are. It certainly won't hurt anything, but it isn't necessary. The minimum is usually 30-60...

    Free Eductional Sites

Try these for size... http://guitarsecrets.com/ http://www.wholenote.com/ But remember that millions of people have learned to play the guitar without the Internet. All I can recommend is listen, listen, listen and play, play, play. Listen to what you like, and listen often. Play what you...

Using a boombox as a mixer?

You can't use a boom box, but a car stereo works great...but only if it's got tons of bass...3 subwoofers minimum. ;)

    Sampleing rate...?

Sampling rate is important. CD's are 44.1, but most modern software/hardware is 96...over twice as fast. The sample rate refers to how fast the "digital snapshots" of sound are taken. The faster, the better. Think of a digital movie. If the sample rate is low, you see flickering...if it's...

Which software you use to make audio recording

I use Cakewalk PA9 because it came free with my sound card. I've used a couple others...Pro Tools, N-Track, Samplitude...all were more intuitive than Cakewalk.

    combo to power speaker cab?

Your amp doesn't have a speaker out? So the speakers are hard-wired? Weird. I've never had an amp like that before. They've all had a speaker out that the speaker was plugged into, which you could remove to plug into a cab of the same impedance. I drive a 4x12 cabinet with a 22 watt tube...

    Squier mods...

Maybe I can give you a few tips here... My first [electric] guitar was a Squier. It was white. I didn't know a damned thing about guitars at the time, so I made a little mistake. :D I thought it would look good with some sort of natural finish or stain, so I sanded the piss out of it, only to...
