Cakewalk by BandLab is finaly launched.. for FREE !!!

I installed it immediately when it became available. X3 Producer was not playing nice with Win10 updates. The Bandlab version functions perfectly...no bugs so far. Finished one album project with it that I started in X3. All legacy plugins are supported, so if you had something installed for...

A mixing problem I may be blind to?

Yeah, everyone has hit on the imbalance. Sounds like the band is in several rooms. The drums don't seem hot to me, but I tend to mix drums hot.;) I might have wanted a bit more definition on the guitar solo..seem a bit thin. Small nits aside, Nice work and good backing vox.

    new tune - "Stay"

Pretty trippy! Bout the only nit I can pick, especially with a mix that gets dense in places is little more emphasis on the groove ala a deeper kick for this tune. But that's really picking nits. Good listen.

    Vegan funk!

The stereoscaping is pretty cool. Any particular reason you didn't sequence the drums? And yeah, the head sounds a little familiar but I think you've moved it around enough to get away with it.:thumbs up: Nice job, enjoyed the listen.

Home Mastering - What Do You Use?

I've found it to be a useful tool on some material. It's used pretty sparsely and usually applied to a particular range. Recently I mixed and eventually mastered an album of Native American Flute music...which is pretty cool. I used the spatial enhancer applied to a reverb bus to gently spread...

    Celeron® N2830 Dual-Core Processor For Tracking Only

I once ran Reaper off of a flash drive on a netbook with an Atom processor. Ran great. lol

    Celeron® N2830 Dual-Core Processor For Tracking Only

As long as you aren't using a ton of plugins, it should work just fine. I used to have a cheapo laptop with a Celeron clocked at 2.25 with only 4 gigs of ram that ran Sonar X1, then X2. Most of my projects were small...12 - 24 tracks and I had zero problems. Now, rendering a mix would take...

    Lethal Racoon Trap

1:53 of demented Raccoon metal with ZaphodB on guitar. This is miles out of my usual element, mix-wise, so I'm pretty stymied on this mix so far. My drummer, Ralph miced up the drum set but I wasn't real crazy about the mic setup. Top and bottom snare mics seem a bit much compared to one well...

    What does this need?

Hard to say what it might need until I hear her on top of this, but my gut feel is absolutely nothing for the first couple of cycles....the break with the bell trees seems to be a natural demarcation point for some added beds...I don't think a soft string bed or some Enya type vocal Oooo's (the...

Been a long time, but new recording!

This definitely has that old Lorber/SpyroGyra feel. I'm with Ray...I think the sax was bit hot and the guitar had it's peaks a bit, but nothing brutal. BTW, Adam kinda channels Grant Geissman for that guitar work. It was great!:) Bout the only real overall mix comment I have is the drums...

    Bob Goes to the Mall

Thanks for the listens and comments...I really appreciate the feedback. Glad to hear the mids weren't just crushing anyone. With time now, they seem to seat a little better than my first impressions. Phil...funny you should bring up SD. Actually, I had just seen them in concert the weekend...

    Bob Goes to the Mall

Thanks for the listen, guys. Yeah, the canned drum track is a bummer. I had a live drummer ready for the weekend but he flaked out at the last moment, so canned was all I had to go with. I did record a click track with this so hopefully I can get him to lay the tracks this week. Also, I...

(David Bowie I Love You) Since I Was Six Cover Feedback

Love the reworked drums. The dist. plug was a good idea and brings just the right amount of grit to them. Nice call. The accordion patch is pretty gruesome....doesn't really sound like an accordion, but that's not a bad thing.:D The drone aspect of it works well. You've captured that early...
