I tried transposing the whole Midi track from 1 to 10 semitones both ways, it still doesn't trigger coherently. This is so frustrating!!
I just want the first midi track to trigger the LM4 Kick sound, and the second track to trigger the LM4 snare drum, etc... Isn't there a way to...
Thanks for your input Tex, but what I don't get is that the DTXpress drum module is GM compliant, so I should be able to trigger any GM compliant VSTi drumkit without transposing, no?
I'll try to transpose everything in a couple of hours, I have to go out now. If you have any other ideas in...
I'm still in the dark here...
As I said, I can get the Midi I recorded to trigger the DTXpress module, but how do I get it to trigger VST instruments?
Now I'm trying to get the Midi to trigger a drumkit from the VSTi LM-4.
To do this, I have to select the LM-4 as output for each individual...
Thanks for clearing that up James :)
I set the "Midi out" to MIDI UART so the Midi I recorded now triggers the DTXpress sound module on playback. I can hear it, it works
Next step then : if I want to use other samples (from an other source than the DTXpress module) for playback, what...
Ok, I've used "dissolve part" to split the Midi track according to note pitch, it works, thanks Stealthtech!
I still can't get it to play back properly though...What do I have to set the "Midi out" in Nuendo to? What's the difference between "Sb Live! MIDI UART", "SB Live MIDI Synth"...
Ok nevermind 1), I managed to work it out by myself...
Now I can record into Nuendo, but when I play back the Midi I recorded it uses piano sounds. What do I have to set the midi out to in order to use the DTXpress's own samples on playback? (I use a Delta 66 for playback)
Also, how do I...
I've got a Yamaha DTXpress e-drum kit that I'm trying to record in MIDI to Nuendo through a soundblaster Live soundcard . I asked about this on this BBS a year ago, but I put homerecording aside for a while and I never got started.
So here I am, I just bought today a MIDI-to-joystick cable to...
Is that a wise choice? Are tube amps reliable enough to gig without a back-up?
I've read a few horror stories on tubes dying in the middle of a show, but I don't know how rare/frequent those are.
Your experience?
I always recommend the asus a7n266-c mobo (nforce chipset).
I run it with a Delta 66 under win2k with an XP1700+ and an Ati Radeon 7500 video card (which supports dual monitors). Very stable, doesn't need any 4-in-1 updates every week :)
Any MD model for sale nowadays will record in stereo.
As for the choice of Sharp/Sony :
-Sony minidisc's are oriented more towards listening (lots of options)
-Sharp md's are oriented more towards recording (better mic-preamp, stronger line-out, and adjustable recording levels without...
Difference is just the ball on the sm58.
The sm57 has an internal windscreen which allows for closer miking, which is why it's often used for snare/guitar cabinet miking, whereas the 58 is traditionnally more of a live vocal mic.
Cd's have to be 44.1kHz/16 bit to be read able to be read by all players.
It's best to do the dithering/sample rate conversion before Nero, ie in Soundforge
Bass heavy monitors will let you hear what's going on in the sub 250 Hz area, where in my experience the Tannoy Reveal actives will have you guessing.
I'll give it a couple of more mixes though (I've only done 2 so far on the Tannoys) before I'll consider getting the sub :)
I have the Yamaha CRW3200E burner and I use the Audiomaster function to burn my audio cd's.
This function makes the laser burn longer pits that are easier to read by most cd-players but at the same time this reduces the capacity of a 74mn cdr (down to 63mn!)
