With a voice like that, you could sing into cups in a string and it would sound great. There is no “best mic” for anything, but Audio Technica 2000 or 4000 series are great values.

The preamps in the M32 sound fine, but they're nothing special. Essentially the same decent mic pre circuit that dates back to mid 80's 200 series Soundcraft.

The SM 12 is a stage monitor desk, not really appropriate for recording. The Crest Century, another live desk, is awful and unreliable. Every time I had to use one I wanted to pull my own head off. Venue II should be usable.

57/58 Yes, the capsules are identical, however the physical construction around the capsule of each mic gives each a different frequency response. Sure's website has the response curve data.
