The Audiophile has two RCA inputs. In regards to the mic, I would recommend picking up the M-Audio Audio Buddy (Pre Amp) It has two inputs for mics and that can connect directly to the Audiphile. I have this setup and it works great.
I just went through this same dilemma. I ended up with the Audio Buddy rather than the mixer, and I am happy with my decision. Cakewalk handles all of my mixing needs and my main concern was getting my vocals into the Audiphile easily. The Audio Buddy has solved the problem perfectly. If you are...
I've been reading that Behringer mixers aren't any good. Any insight on that?
I was going to pick one up at Mars for 69 bucks but it just seemed too good to be true.
ok, so I've completed the pc side of things....Pentium III w/Cakewalk Pro 9.
Now I am on to hardware....... I need to get a mic (For Vocals Only) and with that, I am assuming I will need a mixer. I have a M Audio Audiophile sound card with two inputs so the mixer would help out with the synth...

Specifically, I'm looking for the Roland XP-30 definition. But in the future, is there a new site that anyone can recomend for instument definitions? I was shocked when I saw LilChips had called it quits.

I am pretty impressed with the specs on the Wave Digital DAW's but I am curious. Has anyone out there tried to build one with the same specs from scratch? I am toying with that idea but I am curious if anyone has had any experience. Technically and price wise.
If you have purchased from Wave...
As long as you have Local off and remote off, you should be set. Did you get the Ins. Def? Do you hear anything at all?
Let me know, We can try to troubleshoot.
I have the same setup as you. Unfortunately, I'm not in front of my system right now. I do remember that if you put remote on, it will freeze the system. Make sure remote and local are both off on the midi settings.
I had so many problems when I first started as well, but I am working very...
Ok, I've been at this for months and I still can't get things to work correctly. I am running Pro Audio 9 with a Roland XP-30.
Could someone please explane to me, in easy terms, how to get everything set up correctly. Here is how I have things set up and the issues I am having.

I have Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 and use a Roland XP-30. My trouble is, when I play notes through cakewalk, the sound phases as if there are two notes playing at the same time. When I play the keyboard locally, it is fine. I checked the echoing but that didn't clean up the problem.
Any ideas?
ok....I've decided to go the pc route. I would like to upgrade because my Celeron 333 w/ 3 gig HD and 64 meg of RAM just isn't cuttin it.
Does anyone have any recomendations on places to order a custom built (with my choices, of course)PC. I would even go bare bones and pick up the rest myself...
ok
If you only had one option, which would you choose??
1) Purchase a VS-880ex(or something similar) and use the pc/cakewalk for sequencing.
2) Upgrade the PC and scrap the idea for a HD Digital.
I am on a quest to start this building process but this is my starting point and I am stuck...
