i'ld use the dbx... but then i own and love a 386 (stereo version without the compression)... and unless your interface is exceptional i'lde also use the converters in the dbx...
that's real good supply and should beable tp handle damn near anything... i just bought a new antec for a new project box... toms hardware did a test on supplies a few months back... their finding was seasonics were the one to have... well these are done by them... some of the corsairs too... i...
so the power supply is on a secondary board correct?? and is not connected to the main board???... next are there any fuses on the supply board??? with it unplugged and the meter set for rewsistyence it should be essentially 0... if real high its roached... now can you turn the supply over...

4311's were great back in the day... i would consider getting them fixed but not very cost effective i know... one of mt current projects is to build some monitors based on 4430 's ... ive got the butt horns .... and electronic Xover and amps to drive them (plus subs) need to run into good deal...
12-15yrs isn't that old for caps unless it's been sitting idle for years... yep lack of use is a big killer for electrolytics... and the electro's are the only ones that need to be replaced in most instances... that said.. it wouldn't hurt to do the power supply and perhaps 2-3X's the filters...

the issues do exist... my tascam fw1884 simply would not work on the via chip on an asus board... get an add in card with the TI chipset and voila... runns like a stripe assed ape... go figure... and how did the interface...

that said... what interface are you using??? try to disable cc#'s sent from the keyboard... or alternatively the midi receive in cubase... ya maqy need to look under the devices tab...
