i've having problems raising the master levels without it clipping. Ideas???

nice recording...i think the mix sounds good... drums sound just a little hollow for my taste...but i'm new at this ...just a thought...good tune!

Thanks for the comments... There is compression on both vocals on the second recording. I agree they jump out a little and are kind of "in your face" I'm not real well versed with compression parameters. what are some common ones....i think right now the parameters are Thershold -9.0db ratio...

i brought the guitar up in the mix and centered the male vocals. i didn't want to put the female vocals right on top of the males, so she is panned 15% R. please post your feedback on the new mix. Also any ideas about the sound of the vocals...are things like compression, volume, e.q. o.k. or...

just curious if anyone had any good information on Alto L series mixers. my band and I are currently using the L-8 but we're out growing the board ( acoustic band ...but need to mic drums for some larger rooms at gigs.) Anyway...we've had good luck with the L-8 for gigs and recording, but...

i tend to agree with fiddler...i'm not a huge fan of hard panning. for me it seems like the the sound feild is to far off to my left and right and not a very true stereo image....but that is just my preference. try playing with the pan while listening through a good set of headphones....might...

thanks...the article was what i was looking for. i have phantom power on the board but when it is on to all the channels. there shouldn't be an issue using conders mics at the same time as the others right?...provided they're connected power off??

i use 4 and have no problems with my tracks. for the recording i do (acoustic guitars and vocals) acid 4 with sound forge 6 works great for me. i have no desire to upgrade right away
