Pretty sure you can with midi. I have my Roland TD-3 midi out to my Alesis IO and into garageband and use the kits from garageband.

Will I need to order an extra midi for the midi out from the roland or does it come with the kit/module?

I didn't know you could actually control the io, just the monitoring from that software.

Easy. Just dump the recorded track and add the mp3 to the recorded video! We do this all the time here on macs.
