1981 Gibson Les Paul baby
Because I was raised with The real deal I can't stand the feel of Epiphones. Same for American made Fenders and Mexican, I can't digest the cheap ones.
Harvey,
I'm working my way through this thread from the beginning and I wanted to say thank you. I understand so much more and I feel like a better person after reading so much. I was wondering if the pictures from the beginning (drawings and such) are still around, they only show up as little...
I think I know what mastering is but no one has ever told me. What is it, or rather tell me how you guys do it. I am running a Alesis studio 24 (12 channel) from a ADAT XT. into a Alesis studio amp and then into my moniters? How is it done? (what is done?)
I am the "proud owner" of an Alesis Studio 24 mixer. It is a "16" channel but really only has twelve channels. (4 sterio) It has 8 mic ins and 8 RCA direct outs and 8 rca "tape ins" as well as 8 line ins and inserts. Can any one tell me the value of this console and could anyone give me some...
On the Hammond C3 at our church there is buring smell. At first I though it was the other speaker/sound cabinet with all the tubes in it so I unconected it and only had the Leslie hooked up. Then, as if it were a nightmare the smell was still there... the SMELL OF BURNING TUBES and a hint of...
Wow. That is not a good idea. An amplifier pushes WAY to many amps and would burn out a pre-- maybe even a whole board if the ohms are low enough in the board. If the bass amp has a "effects out" you can use it as a direct out but it will mute the amp... What kind of out-puts/in-put does the...
I laughed so hard when I first read this. I think I woke my Dad and it's 12:47am. Oh yeah, and my mistake is that I read and read up on things and I am still to lazy to record.
For your recordings it soulds like there is no bottom end. No "kick" and no depth to the voice. As far as the songs go, try not to fit too many words into a phrase. Also do record with a metrodome, or at least practice with one. Not half bad though.
To clean it you should use a vacuum with a brush attacthment, don't touch the inside if you do open it. On most Peavys they have a mono master out AND a left and right out. You can use the left and right for the master sends or for a two track recorder. You can simotaniuosly use the mono out for...
You say you are useing an older Peavy amp. The ring might be comeing from the amp. I had the same problem from an old peavy amp I use. Try a working CD player or something else and run it through the amp into a driffrent pair of speakers. The worst that could happen is you could find out that...
I just bought the 20 bit ADAT XT off of ebay. The thing works well and looks like it has the ability to set locate(auto stop) . On the Blackface you needed a BRC to do that and I was wondering how to access those features. I was also wondering how to do punch ins on the XT as well. Would a...
THanks guys, it's not every day that one mics a choir and these comment's will do more than get me started. What kind of EQ should I be looking for? The MXL 990's do hae a lttle too much highs...
It's young question boy again, I am going to be recording a choir in a very dry auditorium. This is something I've never done before. I am going to record each mic on a diffrent track and mix it back with some effects. HOW SHOULD I PLACE THE MICS? I have two MXL 990's, four SM-58s and a SM 57...
An sm-57 will do a great job recording vocals but ONLY if you use a pop-filter. The pops into a 57 will ruin your sound. If you can not afford a pop filter use a hanger and some panty-hoes.
