Last september, I bought my first guitar, an Epiphone Special II LP, in a pawnshop for a grand total of $130. I lucked out and it sounds pretty good, but at the end of the day this is still a $200 guitar, new. Where to next? Money's tight, so I'm looking for a versatile, good quality guitar...

i have a gretsch nighthawk kit. i think it sounds pretty good, after i put some pinstripes on with an aquarian super kick II on the kick. granted, it is bottom of the line, but i've used it live and it doesnt suck.

i've heard decent things about this company, but then again, their stuff is pretty cheap, so i'm still weary. anyone have any experience with them?

hm. what kind of music are you doing? different things are different for diffferent types. like, if it's you and an acoustic guitar, i'd say your name as is is fine. if you're making scananavian death metal, you have to work under the norwegian name for "I WILL EAT YOU SOUL."

Sorry bout the confusion. This is for a guy working at a local indie label. He offered to hook me up with a band he knows or possibly his own project. All mostly middle of the road rock, as far as I know. I can read music, but not well. I CAN play along to most anything if I keep it...

Ok, thanks. Specifically, what i want to do is be able to send drum or guitar parts to the rest of my band, to give them something real rough to work with. Anything to keep me from having to go "ch-ch-dumbuddadumdum" over the phone.

How would I go about doing it? Not for serious recording or anything like that, just so I can bounce ideas off people. Do they make mp3 recorders that I can use like a tape recorder and then just USB it to my computer? :confused: :o
