    Where to find local talent?

Heya, I have a studio now in my basement now and can't develop my tracks any further unless people rap or sing over them so I can add final touches etc. I'm doing this for fun and not as a business and offer my services for free as long as I like what they have to offer. My problem is, I...

How do you process vocals for hip hop?

Hi, I need help with vocals. I realize I need the sound to sit in the mix. My issue is that most online resources are for rock and pop. Where they talk about using very little compression and re-verb. I'm sure Rap has it's own specific requirements when recording vocals and having it sit in...

Best advice for novice/hobbyist for basement vocal setup?

Ok I went out to Lowes and got 3" thick rockwool insulation which is geared toward sound insultation. I spent $60 in total. It covers 120 sq ft. I have to say, I was skeptical but WOW it really worked!! I double stacked them in the corners and just put them around the walls and man did it work...

Best advice for novice/hobbyist for basement vocal setup?

Hi! I am not a pro and don't think it will ever come to that. This is all just for fun. So I don't want to spend much on soundproofing. -Music type is urban/reggae.. local artists possibly. Mix tape style recordings. -Room is a basement with smooth concrete floors. Half of the walls are...

Yes. I got mine for $200 in Canada. It has 2 inputs, and many outputs. Here's the kicker too.. I don't want to RAVE about the product.. but wow. The product is doing everything people said it wouldn't be able to do. It is looping back to the headphones with NO LAG. This is *WITH* vst's...

Man I have a laptop that's like 3 years old (those Compaq AMD 17"'s that were popular a few years back and came with Vista) and it has 6 midi devices simutaneously total in it (including the keyboard and mouse) and amazingly there is not one crackle on playback. The Tascam was a whole other...

when i hit a key on the edirol, i will see an input level go up and down accordingly, thus, the software DOES recognize midi interaction. However, when i load a VST, I can't link the midi action to the VST for sound. When I use my mouse to click on the graphical keys, it will play fine...
