Thanks for all the replies.
Using a different mic is a no-go because I'm recording direct.
sending everything to one reverb buss helped a lot. And hipassing and lopassing the lead did wonders.
Thanks again everyone!
I'm importing a MIDI drum track from GuitarPro6 with embedded tempo changes but Reaper just ignores them and plays them at the project tempo. i.e. the song starts out at 108 bpm and after the intro changes to 142bpm but Reaper imports and plays at the project default of 120bpm.
Is there any way...
I'm working on a demo of a song. It's my first project in Reaper so I'm just figuring things out, but I laid down a solo using a different sound from the rhythm guitar and it sounds like it was just sort of duct taped into place as an afterthought into the mix. I've tried adding adding a little...
That is exactly what I was thinking of but at about 1/4 the price :(.
Something with a DB25 type connector to go to the computer via PCIe card or the like. I would guess the two input connectors are some sort of loom accepting connections from inserts on the board.
Now if only there were...
Should I assume that the board will have preamps built in? It is a Carvin. I forget the model number but it is one of the better ones I've seen. Came with its own anvil case so I assume it's worth protecting that much.
but here goes.
Is there a profile setting that will allow the forum to display when a particular post was made? I'm just seeing member's join date, location etc. but nothing that would indicate how old the post is.
And the mixer will record to 18 discrete tracks through the PCIe card? Am I getting that right?
Do they just not make systems like that anymore? I cannot seem to find anything that resembles a PCIe card that does that.
Maybe I'm just ignorant enough to not really know what it is that I'm...
Hi all,
I'm sorta new here. Today I went to register and discovered that I have been a member since 2004 and just forgot about it. I record at home (obviously) and gave recently rediscovered my passion for it along with a desire to improve my skills at it. I play guitar, bass, sax, dabble on...
Well I know Audition supports VST as it has an option for mapping VST directories when in single track mode in the edit menu. I guess I was more wondering if VST compatibility standards have evolved in the last 15 years. Like is there a VST 2.0 like USB 2.0 or HTML5, that kind of thing. I would...
I've been doing multi-track recording now for going on 15 years now but it's usually been laying down a scratch track with the whole band playing and then going back and overdubbing each instrument individually and recording the drums to one track because I could not get separation for each drum...
And if so, will they work with Audition 1.5 (don't laugh, I'm a broke ass musician). Their website doesn't list Audition as supportive of the bias series of products, but I've seen elsewhere people saying that they use the two together. If not Audition, what about Audacity?
1.5 does a good...
I was just thinking today about the XLR solution you mentioned. My console has tape in/out with RCA inputs. Would that work for the necessary phono pre?
Well there is a terminal next to the TT output. I am using the preamp in my mixing console and there is no grounding terminal there. The console doesn't have a grounding prong on it's plug either.
Just got a brand new turntable that I am running into my PC in order to convert some old vinyl to MP# and/or CD.
I have this 60Hz hum that I cannot get rid of. the plug is not grounded and there is a grounding block on the back of the TT. When I touch the grounding block, the hum lessens and...
What is the worst that could happen? Is there really a significant difference between say the ART SGX2000 Express and the ART Nightbass? what would the implications be if I ran a bass through a guitar processor or vice versa?
Something else you might wanty to try is to simply clone the guitar track so that you have three.
Pan track 1 about 70% L, track 3 70% R and then phase invert track two with the pan set dead center.
See if that gives you closer to the sound that you are looking for.
Being completely ignorant of how FL works, I am wondering if it would be compatible with AA. Does it create files as MIDIs or does it assemble
.WAV/.AIFF segments into a mixed down final unit thatis exportable to .WAV based DAWs?
In 1975 my mother bought me a mid 60's sears silvertone with a fake bigsby type trem that refused to stay in tune. (the kind that if you pulled up too hard the spring fell out and rolled under the bed) It was a $35 paawnshop prize :) It wasn't even standard scale. When the neck became loose...
