I Think i got some hot tracks

Liked the rhymes, not my prefered style but I can hear you have some talent. Not feeling the beats though, too flimsy and lightweight. Programming is OK and suits that style of rap but the instruments are way off the mark IMO. Best of luck with the album.

    Volumes louder than..

shouldn't really be the case. you defo not accidently automated some of the volume tracks and not noticed earlier when you were in cubase? i often do that.

What Cubase books do you recomend?

To start out I bought the Fast Guide to Cubase SX by Simon Millward on PC Publishing. Got me started but I barely use it now as once the ball was rolling I quite like exploring and learning for myself.

    linking reason with sx 2

Rewire isn't perfect IMO because of one main reason (pardon the pun). Everytime you wan't to write something new or work on efx etc in Reason you have to shut down cubase, set up a mixer again and do it that way, because to play anything out of reason in rewire mode, cubase has to be on top and...

    Mixing on Cubase VST32

Assuming its the same in VST32 as the newer versions (from memory it is), you wanna click the little + (plus) icon on the individual track to drop down the volume automation track. (dropping this further will reveal further usefull tracks for automation such as EQ bybass etc). Either that or...

Crackly sound after a few minutes of use???

Cheers for the advice dude. I would love to go down the firewire route but alas my PC is equiped with a S400 Firewire port, the 4 pin version used for connecting video cameras and suchlike. Now I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it needs to be the six pin S800 type for connecting things like...

Crackly sound after a few minutes of use???

By way of a bit of an experiment I unplugged my sound blaster and used my laptop sound to see what that was like. Interestingly, theres no hint of the problem at all with the onboard Sony sound infact, the audio is arguable improved without the Extigy, man Creative should be shot!! All the...

    A Scream distortion like VST

The one thing I am going to miss now I'm moving over from Reason to Cubase is the trusty Scream distortion unit. IMO one of the most usefull and versatile things in Reason. Can anyone suggest a nice distortion unit similar to the Scream one in Reason in VST plug in format? Cheers :)

Crackly sound after a few minutes of use???

Hey there, just getting into cubase. I'm using SX 2.2 and one of the major stumbling blocks I've found so far is that after a few minutes of use the output starts crackling and its gets worse and worse. If I reset the controls in the device setup it sorts it out but after another few minutes of...

Hello, and a couple of questions (latency and what S/C) :)

Ok, made a big step forward. Had a bit of a fuck about with the device settings and I've changed to the DirectX Full Duplex driver instead of the Multimedia one. The output latency is now at 46 ms, which is much more useable creativly now. Still could be a bit lower but its much better than it...
