Cool Edit 32-bit Wave audio, how do I burn onto CD?

Look on the bright side - at least it got a bit of discussion going round here.... nothing more likely than talk of sample rates and bit depths to cause that, in audio circles. Well, I guess there's always the subject of mac vs pc, or digital photography vs film....

    AA1.5 or 2.0 ?

The significant difference with monitoring is that you can monitor with effects. It's indeed best to check out the new feature documents on the Adobe site, the prepurchase FAQs etc on the Adobe forum, and download the trial and give it a thrashing. It's 100% impossible to predict whether you...

    Audition 2.0 question

Oh, I'm not denying the usefulness of a control surface, just trying to make it clear that you don't plug a mic into it (unless it also has a mixer function of course...). I have the BCF2000 always ready at hand in front of my PC keyboard but for what I do, I still tend to draw envelopes by...

    Audition 2.0 question

A control surface enables you to write automation envelopes without using the mouse, if the software provides that function. Before Audition 2.0 there wasn't much point in using one with Audition. Control surfaces are in essence just a more complex mouse. They don't in themselves have any...

Simple Audition 2.0 question - Play/Rec stops when window loses focus?

The answer is in http://tinyurl.com/p9bot on the Adobe forum. :p :)

    hi

If your keyboard has a line out and your soundcard has a line in, you can connect them and record audio using Cool Edit. If your keyboard has midi out and your soundcard has midi in, you can connect them but Cool Edit does not record midi, so it won't get you very far.

Audition's reaction to live mixing becoming slower...?

That's probably the problem. See if the help file advises you on defaults.

    Audition 2.0 question

BCF2000 works pretty well. See this Adobe forum FAQ for layout details.

    Weird Problem

Have you set "Edit > Audio Hardware Setup" correctly for Edit view? There are separate pages for each view.

why are tracks in the multitrack view 3db quieter?

Why is audio in mulitrack view 3dB quieter than in edit view? That will be due to the setting in "Edit > preferences > multitrack > stereo panning mode". Or see "Advanced Session Properties > Mixing > Panning" to change the setting for the current session. From the help file:- "Select...

    Bypass saving to record?!

But you'd sure be glad of that if you changed your mind about the best take tomorrow! Things always sound better in the night than they do in the cold light of the following dawn.... One approach to session management is periodically to save the session to a new folder with "save copies of all...

    Bypass saving to record?!

That's the way it's designed to work - and it's a very good feature for most people who don't want to sit around waiting for stuff to be saved (thus stifling their creativity!). You might find http://www.edwardhamlin.com/afc_download.shtml useful "Audio File Cleanup for Adobe Audition 2.0" -...

    behringer BCF2000 + cool edit

There's a mass of stuff on this subject on the AudioMasters site - not sure whether it's worth reinventing that wheel here...

    Echo In Headphones

That's almost the whole point of AA2.0! Well, that's one of the features that Asio provides routinely. Note we're talking monitoring here - you can record while hearing the reverb, but the recording itself is "dry" - which is what you want so you can change your mind afterwards.

    Metering (AA 2,0)

Asio4All doesn't replace anything. It just provides an extra option. So in the audio program you can choose to use the soundcard driver direct, or to use Asio4All which in turn knows about the soundcard through the Asio4All control panel.

    Metering (AA 2,0)

You need Asio4All ASIO driver - freeware - that should enable you to do what you're looking for - works well here.

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

For me activation is a 100% non-issue. Automatic, takes about 5 secs, easy to transfer, helps stop grotty little schoolkids get for free what I've paid for. Well, some of them anyway.

Audition 2.0 officially announced and available

Depends how bad you need it (or would like it!), what your budget is, and what the alternatives are. Impossible for anyone else to judge. Try the demo first in any case.
