i noticed if i moved a mic near the output xlr cable going to the mixer i got more hum. i guess you need to seperate any cables. this is getting crazy.

my 2 81-s have the single brass screw missing. i wonder if its supposed to be this way or if its a problem. also anyone have a link to purchase the trasistors or any extras for sale. let me know.

used the 73 on vocals and its got a nice color to it. very happy~. does the acm 2 come with a clip. i didnt get one.

gun metal blue works for me. i would never ever take painted aluminum over anodizzeed.as long as the plates are done from the same batch they should all be the same color. thats what the guy at home depot told me. YEAH THATS THE TICKET.

i dont know what your talking about. anodize is a hard as nails process. gun receivers and many high wear type items are done in this process. by nature paint doesnt like aluminum and it has to be prepped before being painted.painted aluminum doesnt compare to anodize. read the last line...

im taking the simplicity approach. i dont want eq knobs to fiddle with. i wanna get it great at the source. i have to agree that strapping extras on a circuit has to change it in some way. im down for a couple 73-s. if the price drops maybe try one of the others.

aluminum doesnt take paint well. i would take anodize in any color available. anodize is a process and is hard as rock. paint will chip and flake then you wont be able to see anything after a while.

your never gonna get thick meaty hats or smack whack snare sounds with those little pencil mic thingies. stay with the large d mics and work on placement unless your doing jazz or something.

its doubled but its more about the harmony. i hear a 5th and 7th. that is the key to there sound.

you must have room problems. this mic has no lack of highs. bass it may need.
