    Stereo special effect?

you could try doubling the lazer track, put a slight delay on one of them, and start them off both panned center and spread them apart. something along those lines might work, unless that's too cheezy...

    Mixdown to cassette

or a good stereo VCR. Either way the results would most likely be better than sticking with cassette. the only thing i could suggest on the cassette deck: i know my old cassette deck has line inputs and mic inputs, and you have to make sure the right input is selected....so, if it's a multiple...

    Multiple mics, one guitar

I would bounce each 4 track guitar part down to one mono track panning the tracks before bouncing would be pretty much pointless (if you're bouncing to mono) I would definitely reccomend you do any necessary EQing before bouncing the tracks, that way you can be more selective about which...

    pedals

beware the dano cool cat pedal! it runs on either 2 batteries, or a special 18v adaptor. crazy.... I definitely prefer stand alone pedals...multi effect units tend to be jacks of all trades but masters of none. however, in my current setup i'm using both. I'm using a boss line selector to...

I am sick of 44khz vs 96 khz argument from amatuers!

actually, I think you can attract more flies with a big steaming pile of shit than you can with honey...so rado's on the right path..assuming the goal here was to be covered in flies... :D

Best time of day to record vocals

i'd have to say after midnight, it takes a while to get a good buzz going, and i just have this thing about drinking first thing in the morning...it tends to lead to either vomiting or passing out by nightfall... Fuck afternoon delight, I am a creature of the night

How would you complete this project???

i'd say only mix the drums down to a stereo pair if you're really really sure about the mix. if it was me and i had a track number/space issue, I'd at least keep the snare and kick tracks seperate and mix the rest of the drum tracks down to stereo...at least then you have a little more control...

"Where" should I record my Amp?

i usually record with the amp near the corner of the room (facing into the room, not the corner) Other than that, I'd just advise to get the amp up off the floor to avoid any nasty reflections...

Mixing post death hardcore metal.. as they define themselves...

try checking out As I Lay Dying...they're pretty good. my only peice of advise as far as recording...if there's a lot of double kick, make sure you get the kick "clicky" enough, otherwise you just end up with a super muddy low end.

I am sick of 44khz vs 96 khz argument from amatuers!

just my opinion, but i'd rather listen to a great song at 22/8-bit than some piece of shit at 96/24-bit. frequency response, signal to noise, sonic clarity...they aren't the be all end all. you can turn out a listenable product with a four track and a couple 57's if you know your gear and how...
