thanks guys! i'd say my favorite kind of tone is that crunchy 70's aerosmith tone. or jimmys live sound from '69-'71 if that helps. maybe the problem is my amp. i'm thinking about either a peavey classic 30 or a fender blues jr. any info on those?
i know i'm kinda going off of the equip...
i'm wondering if anybody has any experiance with this and if you guys think its decent. i have an agile LP and play through a Marshall 10W amp if that helps.
any other recomendations? my price range is 0-100

well, in the past i used to write lyrics whenever an idea came to me and then tried to get a guitar idea down..either with the guitarist in my band or just write one myself on my guitar....then record the guitar and vocals afterwords
now i cator more to the guitar riff and make my lyrics fit...
hey guys speaking of vocals and fitting the melody to the singer....
i don't have a direct link to the song..but if you go on www.platinumaero.com its a link to our bands garageband.com site...our song is called 'break the rock' and i'm the singer...feedback is appreciated :-D
thanks guys
is there any excersise that you know i can do to ease the tension in my jaw muscles? it seems like whenever i've been singing for a while my jaw always hurts after lol..is it i'm pronunciating my words too much?
i personally haven't tried that..but if you listen to a lot of zeppelin and such you can hear especially in their mid-70's stuff they do that a lot...4 or 5 guitar tracks..2 OD, 1 or 2 clean, and one acoustic..or some setup like that..it makes a difference!! lol..
haha, well, i guess its based on preference..for some people having something stronger helps more..i do agree though, honey doesn't really help much....and for the bad breath....if you're worried about that, take some mouthwash or whatever lol :-P
as the singer in my band..i run into that problem a lot..loosing my voice quickly or some days not being able to do sing...all i do to warm up is to sing along to songs that i like...that i can sing to..nothing too high, and drink some warm milk before going to band practice. hope that helps
i'd say maybe adjust your EQ..personally i've found that if you take a little less mid and turn down the high and mess around in that area you'll find less distortion..but the best way in my opinion when it comes to EQ'ing is just to play around with it until you find something you like.
hope...
i don't know exact measurements, but as a rule of thumb SG's are neck heavy, and Les Paul's are more heavy on the body. a good example of effects of Les Pauls on people is Jimmy Page..he can barely play standing upright now, because he has backproblems from playing years and years with his les...
^^yeah, i've gotten some good reviews about the 603's with acoustics...sorry if this is a bad question? but whats an LDC? also, i always get this weird extra noise when i record..it sounds like a bass drum...any advice with that? thanks
has anybody here recorded violin? can i get some suggestions?
most of the time when i record i have the mic facing the right F-hole of the violin at about a 20 degree angle about 3 feet away from the violin...as for mics for now its a 57, but hopefully soon i can get a better one. suggestions...
good mic for me...
hey guys, i'm a newbie home-recorder when it comes to recording my guitar onto my 4-track. i gotta say, the sm-57 might not be the best out there, but its definitly better than the first mic i got which came "free" with my $25 boom stand lol...audio technica or something like...
^^i like it..except the part of the chorus with the "..withstand the attack" seems like its out of beat...what i mean is that i think it would be hard getting all those words in..in the same time you got four words in with the previous line
^i agree..the "rap golden age" is long gone...but whatever..yes, the beat is simple and stuff should be added to it ya know? plus as somebody said before it needs to be mixed better...after a while the voice gets anoying..but i guess theres nothing you can do bout that really..just turn it down
