    Silver Glide

This is an interesting song. Really like your lyrics, very evocative. I started to imagine David Gilmour singing it, someone with that kind of voice would be perfect.

    BJZ - 'False Pride'

Hi folks. As well as my own stuff I'm the 'J' in 'BJZ', an online rock band. Here's 'False Pride', would be interested to see what you think. It was quite a collaboration, with players in the US, Scotland, Norway and Sweden. False Pride by BJZ | Free Listening on SoundCloud Bapu (Ed Kocol)...

Original Song: Well meant ain't well done, Southern Rock-ish kinda thang...

This could be really good, but it needs some work on the production side. You have a good riff, nice slide guitar work, lyrics are fine. The song is there, but it's all very hesitant and dry-sounding (vocals could use some more reverb) The drum pattern is fine for an intro but it needs to...

    Castlerock Drive Acoustic Mix

Nice song, well sung. I agree that it could use a little extra instrumentation to help it along, but if you're happy with the stripped down sound, that's cool too.

    Razzmatazz (Ken Gaines song cover)

That's good, nice performances. The acoustic guitar might be a tad loud which is making the mix a bit left side heavy (you could pan the percussion slightly right to balance it?). Vocal sound is good, nice and warm sounding

Human Remains - Grunge Song AIC Style

I'm not familiar with Alice in Chains (sorry..) but this sound really good to me, I like that main riff and the other guitars playing off it. Nice middle 8/bridge, always like to hear that. All mixed and mastered well to my ears.

    'The Outsider'

Thanks, some good tips there, will try those out. Re: left side heavy; my hearing is weak on that side so I tend to over-compensate, so that comment doesn't surprise me

    Geneva Spur - new track

This is nice, bright and breezy. I get what you were going for on the intro, something akin to the start of Wish You Were Here with Gilmour's guitar coming out of an old radio. It might be a tad strong though. Like the trem guitar melodies and that's a really nice breakdown. Good stuff, enjoyed it.

    'The Outsider'

Hey, thanks very much! I don't have a bass, I usually collaborate with a bassist in California but I couldn't quite explain feel I wanted for this track so I banged it out on the keys. Preston the drummer recorded the drums in his studio and sent me a stereo mix, he gets a great sound.

    'The Outsider'

Hi folks, here's my first offering for crits and comments, it's a prog-ish instrumental with drums by Preston Richardson, everything else by myself. The Outsider by Jyemz | Free Listening on SoundCloud Guitars were DI-d from my Fender Mustang amp into Focusrite 2i4, bass is Sonar Studio...

    New Members: Introduce Yourself Here!

Hi folks, I joined the forum on Monday but just found this thread. I'm James Griffiths, mainly a guitarist writing instrumental prog-ish rock under the name Jyemz. I also play guitar in an online heavy/hard rock band called BJZ, and have recorded a CD in a folk-ish duo called Nettlesmith. Been...

    Molam

Not sure I've heard anything quite like this before..maybe if Air did a horror soundtrack. Cool stuff though, more 'nightmarish' than 'dreamy'. I gather there have been a lot of mix changes along the way, sounds fine to me on this listen. The ending went on a bit.

    Words in a Box

This is really nice, the nylon guitars sound lovely through headphones, and the pad/strings are just right, really melancholy and evocative. Good song, enjoyed this.

    Superman March (SATB)

Very nice work, my only criticism is that it sounds slightly too rushed, seems to need to ease off the gas a bit.

    The Surface - alternative

This is excellent, guitars sound really, really good, as do the vocals. Performances are top drawer too. Nothing to pick on at all, very nice work indeed.

    Bad Dreams II

Well here's my first listen and post on this here forum, and I picked a good one. Loads of creativity in here, really like your guitar work. Not quite sure about the vocal treatment but I got used to it as the song went on. Like the crazy ending, very cool!
