I am into writing fairly lo fi music, sort of like umm..The Beatles, I guess. Wondering if it's possible to get a decent vocal take with a dynamic mic? What else would I need? I've done a few takes and was told the vocals don't really match the music, but I think maybe it's an issue of mixing.

I currently have FL Studio 12, but don't know much about using VST's, plugins, etc. I am trying to get a synth/keyboard sound like the one at the beginning of aTycho song called, "L". Unfortunately, I can't post it on here yet, because I am new! Anyone know what it is or where I could find it?

Do you guys try to write songs like your favorite artists or do you think maybe there is a certain style that you are better at creating? For me, I want to write more singer/songwriter kind of stuff, but riff rock just comes more natural to me. I prefer listening to singer/songwriter stuff, so I...
