Thanks a lot. Help me understand better:
Do you mean extract an adapter from the clip marked with red (see image link below)?
my problem is that the blue marked stand male is too small for the green female Oktava adapter?

Bought Oktava mic, have a stand already (to which I could connect Shure sm57 successfully), the connector of the Oktava is a way too big for the stand connector, what do I miss or need to buy?

I'm about to record online video at home (non-accoustic room) with talking head so the mic shouldn't be seen on frame. Based on my study, I learned that I should avoid condensers because of their omni-directional pick-up (untreated room), lavaliers seems to be not as deep as condensers, so I...
Thanks a lot. Can you clarify what that mean + maybe a link to Amazon page:
"building a frame or two (PVC has been suggested) backing with some heavy drape material or just moving pads"
Howdy. I'm about to record a professional course in an untreated room including talking head. Need to pic a mic up to 350$. Already own focusrite interface with XLR. I'm having doubts between lavalier and shotgun, I tend to choose shotgun has is presumably has crispier and deeper sound. What do...

Thanks everyone, seems like dynamic mic is what I look for. What do you think about the combination of (a) Audio Technica ATR2100 mic (b) Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface? sorry for not including links, I'm not allowed to publis these yet
Frankly, I have no idea. I'm wrapping my head around...
keith.rogers, Steenamaroo thanks, much appreciated!
By saying 'screencasting' I mean recording a course with mostly screen capturing and a bit of a talking head, the audio will play independely so no keyboard noises.
It seems like you don't value the added value of a condenser (high fidelity?)...
I'm tasked to record some screencasts for work, my working room is quiet but there might be some noises coming from the distance + the walls are not accoustic. I'd like to get a decent sound with a ~250$ gear, after some reading few questions popped to my mind:
1. Condenser vs dynamic - this...
