Is it possible to clone & transfer programs from one QuadraVerb GT to another (via MIDI)? If not, is there a (reliable) PC program/editor with which one can to save programs via SysEx? Or possibly Another method of saving and loading programs from QV GT to QV GT?

So are you saying that you can't adjust any sliders/knobs/parameters while connected via FireWire? Sorry to bump but I'm on the most of making the same decision as the OP.
