Thanks for the reply! I swapped it with another card just to see if the card is the problem and it seems to be. the channel i swapped it with was acting the same way. does this mean that i just need to replace the card or could it still be a problem elsewhere?

Hey Guys, I've got a TSR-8 that works just fine except one channel won't record unless the DBX is on. Whenever the DBX is off, the volume meter will sometimes max out(armed or not) without any output. I took out the channel card to see if any anything looked wrong. I did not notice any shorts...
