    Sustain pedal not recording

Well this was short lived, I simply set my preferences to default and it magically solved it (kind of like switching your computer off and on). I had an issue with the pitch bend recently and tried a few things, maybe I've tampered with a sustain setting.

    Sustain pedal not recording

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a layman with tech so please be kind... I have a Roland A-88, using Cubase 6. On loading a VST instrument (any but I'm playing a piano track atm) my sustain pedal works fine, until I press record and suddenly it does not. I've never had this problem before. I can't see...

REVerence still loading but suddenly having no effect

Well, it loads, minus the picture - where have the pictures of the rooms gone, and more importantly where has the physical reverb gone? Everything else is displayed as usual. Also, on most occasions, turning on REVerence actually mutes the audio track on playback. Sometimes it doesn't mute it...

Komplete > Kontakt 5 > The Giant - What have I done? Help!

 Oh dear me, I hope somebody is going to tell me there is a quick fix here, there has to be... Quick debrief - I was supposed to be following up a MIDI issue I posted in the MIDI sub forum about some sort of popping/clipping issue I was getting, which I have now discovered is...

    Yamaha MIDI velocity issue

Ok guys, thank you for all your advice. I've been at the other end of the UK for a few days with my wife seeing the in-laws, so frustratingly I couldn't work on these issues. However I did get to try some of the things mentioned here before I went away. Nothing really worked in any discernible...

    Yamaha MIDI velocity issue

I'm sorry. My Yamaha keyboard goes straight in to the laptop via a USB A to B lead. I turn the local inbuilt sound off. My sound comes back through a Scarlett 2i2 interface which I have monitors and headphones connected to. When I load a piano VST on Cubase and play the keys of the Yamaha, it...

    Yamaha MIDI velocity issue

I have a Yamaha DGX 620 connected to Cubase with Komplete VST software. When loading a Kontakt Piano VST, the Yamaha is not loud enough, which effects the sound quality. I know this because I have referenced from other people playing the software on videos and also I have connected a small MIDI...

Strings Vsts for Cubase - hip hop/dance

I use Cubase and own the NI Komplete 9 package along with a few Cubase freebie vsts and to my surprise there are really no suitable strings for dance or hip hop. Classical strings sound far too rich. I'm wondering if anyone can recommend any strings software (free if possible) I can put on...

DI Box for Bass in to Mixer

I've been putting the line through an Art Tube MP Original. Nice volume, but there is a sort of secondary disturbance when I play notes through it. So I am selling that on ebay and replacing it with the DI Box

DI Box for Bass in to Mixer

Right, there would be a battery patch somewhere I'm guessing. Therefore my bass must be a passive as there doesn't look like any battery patch on it. Gonzo-x, thanks for the link, but thats outside my budget, £30 is my limit. It's a toss up then between the BDi 21 and the Ultra.

DI Box for Bass in to Mixer

Oh dear and I was just about to take JG96's advice and get a passive box. How do I know whether my guitar is passive or active? (I'm thick with these things).

DI Box for Bass in to Mixer

I think I must have a lego brick lodged in my brain, because I can never quite get my head around DI boxes, despite doing an assignment on them last year. I'm looking for one around £30 to send my Squire Jazz bass into my Xenyx 1222fx mixer (which has phantom power). Am I right in thinking...

Using MIDI drumkit (advice for dummy)

Thanks for the feedback guys, so its basically not that complicated. As I am really after authentic drums, maybe the tabletop drums isn't the way to go. Might fork out for the HD1 then or something similar.

Using MIDI drumkit (advice for dummy)

Hi, first post here goes... I can't get on with bashing my keyboard any more for percussion, so I'd like to start learning drums and want to invest in a cheap electric drumkit that does MIDI, I've got my eye on the Roland HD1 at the moment. I have the Komplete 9 package (Abbey Road drums...
