Hi there!
I'm a songwriter, singer and guitarist. Here are some songs I wrote whilst playing in my old band (apologies for the terrible quality!):

Hello all!
It's been a long time...I used to frequent this forum back in 2003, when I was a budding 17/18 year old songwriter/recorder.
I've spent most of the last 9 years or so having little do with music, but I am well and truly back into it now, as I formed a band at the back end of last...
I've had my mixer (Behringer Eurorack MX2642A) for a couple of years now and I'll be honest with you, I've never really understood it. With my old computer, I ran the wires from my soundcard (Audiophil 2496) to the mixer in such a way that allowed me to record sound and play back sound, but I've...

Say I import a click track, then play guitar over that. It's not in line...there is a slight delay (i.e. the click sounds slightly before the first strum). The same happens with anything I try to record. Any idea how to fix this?
Cheers
Check me out, two posts on the same day.
Imagine hardware effects such as a compresser, reverb, noise gate etc. Does n-track actually order these on the list in the track? What I'm getting at is I would want a noise gate before the reverb, so the reverb isn't affected. Is this so in n-track...
Hi,
All I can see is that you pan by dragging a line up or down (corresponding left or right) on whatever track you are panning. A numerical (ideally percentage) interface would be nice, so you can tell n-track to pan one track 50% right and another 50% left - for exact balance. I don't think...
Hey, just looking for a good trustworthy indepedant site that has good reviews of drums and drum kits. I'm looking for a new snare and hi hat stand so would like to see whats out there! Any personal preferences are welcome too. Cheers
Hi guys and girls,
Good news for me, I've (at least temporarily) overcome writers block that has lasted for months and months! Have written two songs in the last two days, one of which is a bit silly, but I think the other is pretty good...

Hi guys,
I have a crap drum kit. I can get an ok sound out of it, but then i'm terrible at playing drums! So I've moved onto digital drums. I've downloaded a program (Acoustica Beatcraft) and it seems pretty good, and I've been able to download decent samples of bass drums, cymbals etc., but...
Hey there,
I feel like I've got 5 or so pretty good songs recorded to a home recording kind of standard, and I'm thinking what have I got to lose in sending the songs out to a few labels? I don't have the resources to make any kind of fancy artwork or anything, just a burned cd of my music...
Hello,
Please give this song a listen and critique it: http://www.nowhereradio.com/tomewer/singles, its the one called See Me Through. Any comments on the recording quality, songwriting, arrangement etc are all appreciated.
Thanks!
Still working on the music, it's my first song in an alternate tuning (open D) so it's taking some work.

And now I feel I should apologise
I thought you'd held out your hand to guide me
But I never looked for the lies

Hi there, it's called "A Feeling". I recorded it on Saturday, I'm aware the vox are a bit loose at the moment. And the bass just sounds shit in my opinion, but I'm not sure what to do to make it better! So what do you think?
Thanks!

...of sites like CD Luna and CD Baby (the two I've come across), where you send 5 cds out and they take a commission fee for every one sold. Does it work, do you actually get sales through?
For an idea of what I'm cooking up right now, have a look here...

Hey there, it's the one called End Of. It's complete (aside from drums and fine tuning), so I'd especially like to know what you think.
This is one song off my first album now nearing completion, all of the songs are pretty much at this stage. Please...
Well I don't know about anyone else, but it worked for me and my non existant budget. Before my recorded guitar tone was way too airy, so I threw a large duvet over the amp and mic, and that extra atmosphere I didn't want disappeared! :)
Hi there,
http://www.nowhereradio.com/tomewer/singles - the track called "Drums".
This is the drum sound I've got at the moment.
What I'm thinking: don't know what the hell is going on with the snare! It sounds more like a tom, and I don't really know why. I think the toms sound pretty good...
This idea might not work, but it's worth a try.
I've decided I won't start my recording until my exams are over (they start tomorrow, end in 17 days), so until then I'm going to be gagging to record!
So until then, maybe the experts who browse this forum could regale us recording newbies with...
Hi,
I'd like to incorporate strings into some of my songs (I don't know, 5 piece band, violins, not sure), but i dont have a band handy. I was wondering if there were any realistic cheap/free programs that can help me out with this?
Thanks
