Don't blame the mics. I have tried rather expensive mics and this same thing happens with me. I suggest you buy what is called a mic preamp.

I went to a battle of the bands here in CA on Saturday and the first prize winner won an Fostex MR-8. Which I found funny because that band is the only other persons I know (not including you guys) who own one.

I am assuming they didn't offer such feature because they wanted to keep the price for the end-user somewhere near $300.00.

The mr-8 is most definetley not for live mixing.

is that card on the confrrimed media list that fostex releases every few months? if not, that could be why.

I am not in front of my machine right now but I believe it's Menu->Track->Move Track. Check out page 65 of your manual for moving track data.

Well no. But you can bounce to 5 and 6 without any crazy panning (center) and then "move" track 5 to track 1,2,3 or 4 and erase track 6. Does that help?

That would be 'DELETE UNUSED' You can find it by tapping 'Menu', then selecting 'Song' and then in there selecting 'Delete Unused'. This will delete anything that you undid or erased FOR EVER (sandlot). so beware. It really comes in handy for all the people using that 128 chip that the mr8 came...

there are sizes up to 3 gigs now. but a 3 gig is about $2500.00. Later this year, there will be a 6 gig available coming out at $7500.00. it will be soooooo long before these are standard sizes though. until this much space is demanded, these prices wont drop much.
