Home Recording of Vocal and Piano

Go with the Tascam Dr-40. I just got one and it's awesome. There are no on effects on the Zoom as far as I know. The Dr-40 has multiple reverb effects to choose from and they sound great on instruments and vocals. And all you need are the built-in mics.

I'm setting up my home studio but need help!

I've been researching this a lot lately. I've never used software to record. I've always went to recording studios, but the studio that I've been using has recently closed, forcing me to just do it myself. Youtube is a great resource. For example, there's an artist named Guthrie Thomas with...

The stuff I hear from him leads me to think he...

    Roland Cakewalk V-Studio 20 question

Thanks Glen. You're right. The Tascam DP-008 is discontinued but the DP-008EX just came out. There's one guy on youtube that recorded a whole album on the DP-008 that sounds great and there are so many other videos with songs made on them. I recently heard back from a guy who told me the VS 20...

    Roland Cakewalk V-Studio 20 question

I'm new to home recording and have a silly newb question (bet y'all never had one of them ) First of all, I like island/trop-rock music and I am going for that sound. I just want to record me playing acoustic guitar, some vocals along with some congas, my cajon and some steel drums...

    New Members: Introduce Yourself Here!

Hello, I'm Michael. I love trop-rock music. I started playing guitar in 2000 at 28, writing songs, hoping to get better and one day record them. Now, 13 years later I hope to finally start recording, not to be famous but just for me, my family and friends, and to have some fun doing it.
