Great tune and arrangement. Lots of energy and I love the vocal harmonies. Only nit is that the piano (?) sounds fairly synthetic especially in the first couple of minutes. I kept thinking how much better it would sound with a real acoustic piano, or at least a VST with more depth and ambience.

Thanks for the listen. I think I may retrack some of the vocals to get the harmonies a bit more exact. Not a resonator - just a cheap tinny Yamaha capoed. It’s definitely a throwback; then again half of what I hear on playlists are purposely retro, so maybe what’s old becomes new again.

Thanks for the comments on the pan & vocals. Yes the vox are doubled & hard panned, so I could fix that. Of course it also sounds like our music tastes have nothing in common, so there’s that ;). Saw Bon Iver in concert last year & Grizzly Bear is up this week...

Would appreciate some feedback on the mix. I do love the reverb-y sound of Fleet Foxes & other indie bands, but find it really tough to get that without the mix sounding like mud. Cycle Song

Thanks for the inputs everyone - much appreciated. I'm working on a new mix with more aggressive drums, and I've tried to make the bass punchier by boosting the mids & cutting the low-end rumble. Easlern - Yep, I usually DI the bass with decent results, but this time it sounded too boomy, so...

Thanks for the listen and the advice - I can work on removing mud from the drums and bass & then repost. The "tambourine thing" you mention is a tambourine.
