Need help for setting param EQ for guitar rack

Thanks for the info What Q setting do you recommend while sweeping through the frequency? The Ultra-Q can go from ultra-steep (0.03 octave) to pretty wide (2 octaves).

Need help for setting param EQ for guitar rack

Last week I bought a parametric (I hate graphic) EQ (Behringer Ultra-Q Pro, 5-band fully parametric, plus lo-cut and hi-cut) for my guitar system (which is composed of a Pod Pro and a *cough*Peavey*cough*solid-state*cough* power amp through a Mesa 4X12). I hooked it up and tried to do something...

    String-through vs Stop tail piece

I'm trying to decide between two guitars, the Schecter Diamond Series C1-Plus and the ESP LTD H300 (ok I admit it, it's actually the C7+ and the H307, I want a 7-strings :)). What they have in common: mahogany body, maple top with see-through finish, H-H configuration, non-trem bridge, similar...

    A/B switch stomp box

I need a fast acting A/B switch to switch from one amp to the other, preferably passive (don't want to use batteries or power cord). What models should I look into? Something that won't affect my guitar signal in any way.

    Mesa/Boogie: Dual Rectifier or Trem-o-verb?

I tried a bunch of different amps, and there's no way around it, I need a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier amp! Nothing else has the sound I'm looking for Now I'm wondering if I should get the normal Dual Rectifier Solo Head, or a Dual Rectifier Trem-o-Verb long head. I can afford the $$$...

Cakewalk PA 9 deletes audio files!

The wavedata folder was created by Cakewalk itself, and yes the name match. I tried using a different folder (created a new one in Cakewalk), I reformated the whole drive, and there's 2Gb free. It started after I tried recording 4 tracks at the same time with my Delta 44, my poor computer...

Cakewalk PA 9 deletes audio files!

I can't stand it anymore. I'm trying to record my band's demo and Cakewalk keeps deleting the files in my Wavedata folder when I save a song. I reformated my hard drive, reinstalled Windows and everything, erased my .wrk files and started from scratch, used a different wavedata folder...

    One POD problem-any ideas?

A good guitar helps too. My Godin LGX definitely has more sustain than my Yamaha Pacifica! (and the sound is 1439843909 times better too)

    New guitar amp suggestions

Even miced, a combo won't sound the same as a 4X12, it's a question of the frequency response of the cab, open back vs close back etc. Unless the Combo has 4 12" speakers in them and is the same size as a full size cab., it won't sound the same.

    Worlds Worst Guitar!

I will always remember that Barrington Fox (never heard of the company after!), the pickups were so horrible it would make microphonic feedback even when I was on the clean channel! Funny thing is you couldn't make "real" guitar feedback with it.

monitors for hip hop music.......or any bass ridden music

Mackie HR824 are very impressive in the low-end departement. I saw a guy A/B them with other 8" monitors, and when he kicked in the Mackie it was a whole different world, you could FEEL the bass and the walls shaking, it sounded like there was a sub.

    Sub busses (and A&H MixWizards...)

What are sub busses for? I'm asking that because I noticed the Allen & Heath MixWizard 16:0:2 console which cost the same price as a Mackie 1604, but gives me the superior quality and sound of a A&H, plus 2 effect processors, 2 sweepable mids, 6 aux busses, yada yada. The only thing lacking...

Allen & Heath GL3, how good?

Hey Sonusman, are you sure a Mackie wouldn't be better? :D just kidding!

Allen & Heath GL3, how good?

We're about to buy a complete PA system for our band and they're offering us a slightly used Allen & Heath 24-channels GL3 mixer, how good are those? Also, anyone know if the brand "Acoustic" makes good loud speakers? THey're offereing us 4 full range with 15" woofer, and 2 2X18" subs, all...

    ATM-25 (BD mic) impressions

Forgot to tell: yes we always muffle the bass drum, and yes CJ that is what we want :)

    ATM-25 (BD mic) impressions

The funny part is that, the ATM25 was really close to the beater and I got all the bottom end I needed, and the EQs were all a 12 o'clock! I suppose when we get to record, I'll be able to hear how that mic sound more accurately.

    ATM-25 (BD mic) impressions

Is there something I'm missing here? Everyone loves Shure Beta 52s and AKG D112 for bass drum. The show we did in march, we had a huge sound system, with an Allen & Heath GL-3 console, nice compressors, the soundman experimented with a 421 and a D112 on the bass drum and couldn't get the big...

    Pirate Software

Sonusman do have a point. I remember when Cakewalk came with the audio stretch feature in Pro Audio 6 but you couldn't use it in the demo version. But after getting the full version you had one bad surprise when you noticed it was so badly coded, it sounded so bad, you couldn't use it for...

    T-racks only 16bit???

Yeah, like you said! So, you mean the software process audio internally in 24bit but reads only 16 bit??? I thought you dithered down to 16 bit during mastering, now I have to do it at mixdown :(
